Good bye M3

Hi folks
Finally BMW NA bought my M3 back. it was very simple, quick process. i was surprised how BMW take care of their customers. i miss M3. my GF at first didn't like the car but she fall in love with it after short period of time.
i haven't thought about my next car but may well be E90 M3.
we'll see if my GF wants E90 instead of E93.

I somewhat disagree with the BMW taking care of customers part: I might have a bit of a story to tell if I get the opportunity to (if I feel like it, and if I do, I'll email BMW NA with a link to the story). Maybe by the beginning of next month at the latest, if I do.

But I'm glad BMW took care of you, congrats on your win!

Thanks guys~ i really like M3post folks!!
of course my GF doesn't make any decision but. E90 M3 is not a bad car, is it?
still looking.
had couple of issues with i-Drive/water leak/clunky tranny. and of course the famous idle control valve failed =)
i had to spend my own time to fix these problems but at the end, BMW figured "this guy is not a joke" I saved all the documents / withnesses (from multiple dealers) and wrote very simple and polite complaint letter.
anyway, i am pretty sure they ran numbers back and forth, try to see if they can get by. (not doing buy-back) but my case is very clear and the car was defective. from that on, BMW took care of the problem. somewhat lengthy process b/ the person i dealt with had to talk to the bosses and they had to bless it.

M3 is fun to drive. (hell ya!) but i hope BMW can put little more R&D money into electronics as well. we'll see!!! i'll try to show up on 626 meet if i can or OC meet. i still miss my car.

the e90 is great, you have more room and you don't lose much power at all (only 200lbs heavier i think).

The E92 and E90 weigh the same if both are ordered w/o sunroof. The E93 weighs considerably more than both by several hundred pounds.

how?

skywalker562,

...I am having problems with my m3 comfort access, it fails to open the doors & trunk @ random. Very irritating is putting it mildly. The dealer has tried to repair it 4 times now and all I'm getting is BS. BMW NA has so far been unhelpful and suggests I take it to another dealer. Been there, and I've had a factory rep look @ the problem it without resolution.

Did you have to get an attorney involved for the buy-back to happen? Any chance I can get a copy of what you sent BMW NA as a reference to base my own complaint letter on?

It weighs about 24 pounds more, not 200 pounds.

Glad they took care of you...I suggest you get a E90 or E92 so you can eventually track it more easily. Maybe your not into that kind of stuff but I suggest you try it once then decide but definitely go w/ the E90/2
