Just got the phone call from my SA. My car was released to trucking yesterday, but the ETA on his computer says Sunday. However, he said it could still come in today, and if it's early enough, I could take delivery today. Keep your finger crossed for me!

So tomorrow for sure? I'm wondering if my parts were installed quickly and placed on the same truck as yours. Wishful thinking.

I don't think so, but who knows. I was told if not today, then perhaps Monday or Tuesday. Maybe they don't do any prep on Sundays? Really, I have no clue. I'll try to find out tomorrow.

Congratulations Michael! Great looking car... As for the Conti's, had them on my 550 and they really are good tires with better wear than the PS2's. In fact when I had to replace the first set (got 20K out of them) I went with the Conti's again.

Apparently they spent all of Monday to install carbon fiber mirror caps (took me 20 minutes on my 135i). Today, they installed the CF spoiler. They said it takes a day to dry and should be released tomorrow. So I'll probably see my car either Thursday evening or Friday. I'm dying here.

Good luck, radiantm3! The wait is well worth it!

Mine is back at the dealer to get some spots buffed out, get the rim cleaned up (nasty rubber marks), and have the navigation activated. I also had a case opened with service and a BMW rep because of marks on the leather inside the driver's door panel. It looks like two little dents/severe indentation in the leather, but not as a result of damage -- it really looks like it was made that way. I've no idea how that passed QA. Salesman said the process has started to get a new one, but it's a slow process.

I already have put 100+ miles on it driving from Pleasanton through to San Mateo!
More to go tonight!

BTW - getting the A2DP profile activated on your bluetooth phone to play music through the car is a very complicated process -- and I'm a techno wiz. Let me know if you find it as difficult as I did.

How does it sound in comparison to directly connecting?

Is there still a leather pouch for an iPod?

Does it come with any iPod cables now? I'm guessing you have to use your own iPod cable now.

I didn't see any leather pouch. It didn't come with an iPod cable, but the SA went and got one for me at delivery.

I found out today that it's not supposed to come with one, and so I told him and returned it to him. He's been fantastic, given me freebies, and I don't even have an iPod, so I really have no use for it.

iPod/USB Adapter (6FL)
This option has also been enhanced with many exciting features.

iPod One-wire integration: No longer will an iPod connection require the “Y-cable”. The original iPod USB cable is all that is required to connect the device to the vehicle. This simplifies the connection by not requiring the aux-input. The music is transferred directly from the iPod digitally to the HiFi system via USB. Therefore as of September, the Y-Cable will no longer be included with iPod/USB Adapter (6FL).

Haven't had a chance to play with it. It should sound seriously better, since it's a digital connection. The aux port is analog.

Do you literally mean the Aux port? Because I connect my iPod through the USB port. I am not a tech guy but I assume the USB port is digital... or am I wrong?

Oh, I don't use an iPod. I use my Android phone. I hooked it up so that I can play my music over the Bluetooth now -- no wires. Before that, it would have had to use the headphone out jack and go into aux. Or I suppose you could put it into USB mode and mount the music folder as a drive.

Gotcha! One more question... You mentioned going back to the dealer to get the navigation activated. Never heard of that, did they fail to do this before you took delivery?

Yes.. it requires an activation code. I've been out driving all evening actually
They were supposed to put it in today, but they didn't. Guess they were too busy re-detailing. Found more scratches on the lower lip of the front bumper.

I heard some rattling from the glovebox area, and just took everything out.
I found the Activation Code on a piece of paper in there, so I'll enter it in in the morning.

Question about your Auto start-stop. I love the feature cause I sit in traffic a lot. I remember reading from others that it saves your choice and you don't have to keep turning it back on. Every time I get back into the car, it defaults back to off. Any idea how to default it to on? Does yours?

Good question! My CA showed me the start/stop function at delivery and promptly turned it off. Have never turned it on since but I'll play with it today and get back to you...

It's Killing me guys!!! Read this BMW story of the one day car

Here is my story. June 2010, Ordered 2011 335xi. Le-Mans Blue, M-sport with 6-speed. Nav, Cold weather, premium, HK sound, comfort access...
August 12...the day came and we went to pick her up. Beautiful...

That night...transmission. Couldn't get into gear. Turned out...manufacturing defect and the flywheel bolts were incorrectly installed and sheered and stripped threads in crankshaft. Speaking of shaft. They wanted to put a new crackshaft in an engine with 80 miles on it. NOPE.

Reorded and she was onboard the Toreador. Still have not received word s of yesterday...was still at port. Oh I miss her so bad.

My first BMW...lasted 6 hrs. Please get my new one hear safely and quickly!!

My new car is getting its front bumper clear coat resprayed because of a super small scratch on the lower lip. I had just asked for it to be buffed, but apparently it had gone through the clearcoat entirely. At least they are being top notch and taking care of it. Damn. My SA said I will have my car back tomorrow, though.
