Same as 335i, like it or leave it, I guess. Have you seen a 335i in person (esp. at night, from the rear). Awesome, IMO. To each their own though.

Good find... The the only thing that still gets me is the price though. That estimate and conversion is WAY off. BMW would not make the M3 MORE expensive than its larger sedan counterpart, the M5. That would completely throw off the marketing strategy.

Right now the US MSRP for the M5 is 82k, the M6 is 98k, and M6 convertable is 104k. The M coupe is at 50k. Given the previous models pricing schema, i would expect this to still stay true, each model would see a 15k to 20k price diff.

Having said all of that, it puts the M3 in the 55k to 65k price bracket.

I am only speculating but all previous years seem to hold true because each model attracts a specific market and clientle.

The hood is bubbled (for the V8) on the second pic, where is it on the first pic?

When you look at the bubbles, they are definitely a photoshop, when you look at the colour differences, this is the proof for me.

I hope BMW will sue this bastards, who made these photoshops behind their 286 in their crappy trailer.

Hi people just wanna say hi and shed sum light on the above article..... I myself work for a BMW Here in the UK and can confirm with you that the car pictured is a 335i that has been photoshoped.

Here are your clues.

The car is pictured with a Chrome window surround..... M3 will have a Black or high gloss shadow line.

The front fenders are not flared

Bonnet buldge not consistent in all pics.

Wheels in motion - not showing proper M Wheels

No M Sport seats in cabin.

All 4 Tail pipes are too large and look disperportioned with Mules etc. plus no clear view of front bumper .

Absence of true front fender vent, the one pictured copied off an m6.

So i say to you all dont take to much intrest in what you see here cause its probably going look very different.

IF the car would like this I would buy a E92 335i before the summer '07, that car is much better in proportion then this photoshopped car!

Like others have said, I don't believe that BMW will price it any higher than $60K something. If it is any higher and/or doesn't run to 60mph in 4.5 or less and to 100 mph in less than 11 seconds, I am staying with Porsche.

Part of the reason I am undecided whether or not to go with the face-lifted 997 S is because the almighty M should run with it for less money and have a better resale. If it doesn't, I'd rather LOSE my money with a 911.

I don't care what type of car it is, if it's over $70k (+/-), Ferrari 430 excluded, of course, the resale will start to suffer. Too much stiff competition and too narrow of a market for resale.

It should speak volumes to BMW, that having had the fortunate opportunity to own a 997 S and 997 turbo, that I am considering getting another M3. Only if they do it right!

For the performance, value and resale, it should be on the top of a short list. I really hope BMW and Bangle don't screw this one up!

Well, I don't doubt this is a pchop but...

-The front fnders are flared (perhaps you think not enough?)
-Hood buldge looks entirely consistent in all pics to me
-Would it be a huge surprise if the final version of the tail pipes are different than the mules seen thus far?
-Would it also be impossible for the new M3 to have the M6 fender "vent"?

What is your "evidence" that this is a pchoped 335 (other than your opinion)

I guess I can't decide fully until reading and seeing the mag (or good res scans) myself.

Its been confirmed that the images are indeed a photoshop. From another board, Re: the car mag:

Yesterday, we posted an article questioning the validity of the 2008 BMW M3 that’s featured on Car’s February 2007 issue. Today, we found scanned pictures of the specific article which, unfortunately, prove that the 2008 M3 we saw was photoshoped.

Even though the images are somewhat blurry and could easily be mistaken for being the “real thing”, the answer lays on the first page and specifically where it quotes: “Images Barry Hayden / Motor Forecast”. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the name, Motor Forecast is a company that specializes in “chops” – for example, they came up with the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible rendering that was shown on Autoweek.com.

I'm surprised to see so much "thank god these are photoshops" comments. Personally I think it looks pretty awesome. The hood, front grill, and tail look frickin rad, IMO anyway. What specifically is everyone having the biggest issue with?

Is this why we've seen the large PLATE on the back of all the mules? Blocking the style change of moving the licence plate to the bumper?? I LOVE it btw. Gives the trunk a very different look - somewhat 6-series'ish.

I for one like the pics except for the shiney surrounds and side skirts which could be a little more aggresive IMO. I really really like the front bumper and I hope the real things is close to that. I think the info is what really had people worried (price, performance)

About the price of the new M3; here in Holland the old M3 cost around 82.000 euro, the RS4 costs 107.000 euro.

So I guess the E 92 will be between 85.000 and 100.000 euro, mind these are Dutch prices and don't apply to all euro countries, i.e. in Germany cars are cheaper then in The Netherlands, this is a result of taxes.

just checked the BMW system and the number plate shown in the picture relates to a 335i so this should kill all rumors that this is a real m3.

So people every thing you see in those pictures is more than likely going to change for the better - didnt think much of the tail anyway
