Question Rim stance for Euro/BMW similar to JDM style?

I just wanted peoples opinion on the topic.

In the JDM scene (VIP, HellaFlush, etc), enthusiasts push rim widths and offsets to the limits. I am talking about 10-11 wide rims with low single digit to negative offsets.

Would it seem awkward to do the same to our bmws? Where the outer barrel of the rim is pushed oh so slightly outside the fender, with only the stretched tires (255/265 tire on a 11 wide rim) tucking inside the fender?

Similar to this look:

10.5 rim wearing 245

11 ET+7 rim with 265

I love how all these cars have such deep dish lips. 4.5-5.5" range. I wouldn't elect to do something this aggressive but I'm thinking of doing low double digit offsets on my next set of 19x9.5/10.5 rims. My last car was a VIP styled Fuga M45 with this style and tempted to do something similar to the M, but in a milder flavor.

Its been done plenty of times on here. Longtran has had a few sets that were pretty aggressive from what i recall.

WheelSto is really good with getting wheel fitment like those.

great fitment/stance is what we need more of.

like crazybimmer said, there are a handful of examples on the forum...and i personally love the look of a proper stance on any car. if you need any help picking out some wheel offsets/tire/suspension combos, feel free to shoot me a PM!

Asides from longtran, can anyone post some pics for example? E92/E90 specific
I've seen a really aggressive BBS LM-R E90 but that's it (done by longtran). I went through the epic Official Modified E92 thread and I didn't come across any that is in this classification.

couldn't find too many shots that really showed what you're looking for, but this is member MikeM5's car (IND Red Death):

I was looking more along the lines of massive lips. Plus the outer barrel rim isnt poking out and tires arent stretched. The outer barrel lip needs to sit direct under the fender.

wheel fitment beyond the plug and play realm is an art. you can run numbers all you want but without experience and lots of trial and error, not easy to pull off.

I, personally love any kind of stance. a good track set up, the slammed look, euro poke, VIP, Donk.... all great forms of expression. It is a form of expression based on your association with the car at a very personal level.

Key is: "Don't be Afraid". Take a good idea and make it your own.
If you need help, we are here!~

I love this look but not so extreme...

I have to agree with Julius it is a lot of trial and error but when you get it right This is why a lot of people dont share offsets when you get it perfect. It takes too many mount/balance trying different tires, several sets of wheels, etc to just give it away.

NOW

This isn't technically the limits but it is my daily driver so Wheel Addicts kept it as aggressive as possible without any rubbing whatsoever with a 285/25/20

These shots show the ride height that is actually driven on aka no photoshop drop here

I just got my camera lens back and my lip just came in. I'll post a thread of my ride when everything is installed and Seattle's weather will hold.

wow, very nice. the rear is spot on, think the front can possibly be bigger (unless it would rub).

love the wheels, especially the hidden hardware and step-lip; just prefer the DC version.

what size tires f and r?

i've always loved the look of this car. Plus the SSR SP3s are sick! Don't flame me for posting a lexus!

these come in aggressive offsets and BMW fitment! Wish I could justify shelling out the dough for a set.

check out http://www.stancenation.com/ for some more examples

that lexus has to be bagged. thats some aggressive offsets; a lot of work was done (negative camber) to get it to fit on a non-IS-F body. go figure, those are Hawaii plates.

but does that look good on a Euro?? i was told the m3 pictured is just a show car. it isnt actually driven with that setup. that picture was posted a while and a lot of forum members didnt like the way it looked (IMO it looked just fine). maybe euro not inline with jdm style just yet?

I'm pretty sure that lexus is bagged for that type of stance. There's no way he could not be. The hole "hella flush" think is getting out of hand IMO. There are kids trying to achieve this with little or no money and it just looks horrible sometimes, although there are at times when you do see a car and think to yourself that it looks amazing. But then that thought passes with you passing them on a dip as they're going 2mph and hitting a dip at a ridiculous angle and slowing down traffic behind them.

that subjective.

duk, its purely for looks. this actually makes your handling 10x worse.
unless its setup properly for drifting, then its a plus.

look how stretched the tires are (prevents the sidewalls from collapsing on extreme G's).
