New Spy Shots of V8 M3 - Autoweek

BMW’s M3, scheduled for launch next year, will feature V8 power for the first time, derived from the same powerplant propelling its road-rocket siblings, the M5 and M6. The 4.0-liter engine should deliver 415 hp via a seven-speed sequential manual gearbox or an optional six-speed manual.

In these photos our spy caught the M3 on a test drive near Munich, allowing us to reveal the car from every angle. Note the large air intakes at the front end, wider fenders and four exhaust pipes.

BMW’s sunshine-loving buyers will have to wait an extra year for the convertible M3, along with a rumored four-door “bring the family” M3 sedan.

Not really liking the exterior as what i can see from those pics.

I know the M3 would be based around the 3 series, but i like the 5 series more..hope it turn out somewhere inbetween...

I would agree that based upon these pics, the new M3 exterior looks somewhat bland. I hope that for $60+ grand BMW offers $60+ grand worth of upgraded design over the current E90.

looks really mean, although I can't believe wheels like that would be standard.

It is an extensive PSHOP of an e90 sedan which was lowered and made into a 2 door then added on those wheels. The real car however did have that bumper on there (custom made)..

remember they still have camo covering things up and that the stuff is sloppily thrown on for testing. just look at the basic form the car is taking not the detail, wait for the official pics, then judge the car.

It´s an older spyshot of an E92 335i turbo!

got that from the M3 forum guys, so it has to be legit, looking at it closer it the exact car depicted on M3 spy photos. except for the wheels maybe

Sorry but Uli_HH is right, that was a spyvideo of the 335i coupe. You can tell because it doesn't have quad exhausts, only dual split exhaust. Look at e90post's video thread, they have it listed there as the E92 spyvideo also.

Good point! Anyways I have yet to see video captured of the M3. Hell its barely been captured in spyshots.

believe none of yu hear and only half of what you see. buts it a m, they just took to pipes off for incognito, and turn up your volume and reverb the sound
