New car, and already...
So I was parked in the parking lot on post last week and someone decided to damage the car... The good thing is that the guy stayed there until I saw it and we did the police report and got everything taken care of, so I don't have to pay a cent. Although I'm sure his insurance will soar when they get the bill for 2000 Euros!
The worst part though is that the car is brand new, meaning I just picked it up from the dealership a little less than a month ago. She is scheduled to go into the dealership Friday for the 1200 mile service. They are actually hooking me up pretty nicely. Since I fly back to the States on Saturday for my 2 week vacation, I am dropping her off Friday, they will do the service and repairs on the car, and keep her there at the dealership secured for me until I get back. Pretty sweet! Here are the pictures of her scar

 Hopefully the guy stayed but that's difficult to see that in a brand new car. My mom had the same problem with her brand new X1 23d (but in front of the car). After it was repaired the car was like new.

Yea, he stayed there. I saw him and some of his friends staring at the car so I got curious and walked up there. He told me he hit it while he was backing out so I called the police and we filed the report. The insurance will take care of the repairs and they already authorized the dealership to repair it. It stinks to have her like this but soon she will be as good as new

Insist that they take the bumper off the respray it. I had similar damage and they painted the bumper on the car and I got just enough overspray to be annoying.

Same thing happened to my 335 in 2007. It's from some A-hole trying to parallel park.

The dealership ordered a whole new wheel and a new bumper. They are totally replacing everything, not just painting over it.

Thats so reassuring though that they are putting a new wheel and bumper. I know that would make me feel much better rather than just painting over it.
Could have been much worse.
