Fix It Ticket for Tinting - German plates

I did European Delivery on my M3 and before my Cali plates had arrived from the DMV, I got a fix-it ticket for the 50% tinting on my front windows. Since the ticket has the German license plate number on it and no VIN, do I have to pay the ticket? Does the ticket apply to the car or to the driver (they got my driver's license number)?

Thanks!

The OP is saying that there is no VIN on the ticket, not no VIN on the car. you will want to pay that ticket as they have your drivers license #. Technically the registered owner of the vehicle, plates, does not take any kind of hit when someone gets a ticket, jus the driver. This is a crappy situation if you get a fix it ticket on a car that isn't yours that also has no plates.

Also, seriously, its a 25$ ticket, just pay it.

To clarify ...

Just want to clarify, I can only pay the $25 fix it amount AFTER I get the tinting removed and signed off by a cop. I paid about $900 to put the tint on and now I have to pay to remove it and then I'd just have to pay again to put it back (CA allows for 70% on the fronts). Any advice is appreciated.

Also consider getting a more OEM looking tint so the cops don't pull you over. STM has a great product, a photochromic tint, keeps the heat out but maintains the OEM look. No worries about being pulled over for tint again.

High Energy Rejection (54%), High Visible Light Transmission (65% VLT) and it's completely 100% dye free and metal free. It also rejects 99.9% of UV A & B and and IR rejection of 78%.

they don't care about the vin bc the car isn't paying for the ticket, you car; hence your drivers license.
