Any way to register a car in Delaware as MD resident?

Obviously the no-front-plate thing is nice, and the titling fees are WAY lower. My parents have a home in Lewes, DE, but I'm not sure if this matters.

Anyone ever done anything like this?

similar,

for example i was living in NC, but was a VA resident and claimed my home of record as my parents house in VA.

i'm military, so maybe its different for me.

i'm sure you could do it though, just claim that you parents residence in DE is your as well. If anyone asks, you can sheepishly say you still live w/ your parents, etc.

It'll help if you have a driver's license from DE. that way you don't need any other proof to register the car there and then use your parent's address. Easy as pie.

There may be a law in Md to say you have to register you car there if you live there, but I don't see a problem if all your papers are in line with DE. the only thing you have to note is that your insurance MUST know you're in MD to insure you properly.

Yes if you register in DE you will need a DE policy but you must list your garaging address as your residence in MD. The insurance state matches the plate but the rate also factors in where the car is parked.

I have many clients who tried something similar (not disclosing the garaging address) but it is insurance fraud through rate evasion. LOTS of people who live in the NYC area do it. Not worth it though if you want the company to pay out on a claim.
