All testing and settings were completed in a stationary car. Engine NOT running with all windows up.
Conducting such a test in a moving car or with the engine running would be a pretty pointless exercise.

JUST saw this thread now. Thanks.. I was losing it. I guess it's wrong of me to had expected the a totally neutral EQ setting to actually be neutral.

You might be misinterpreting the example. I see a lot of people trying to overcome the reduced dynamics of a compressed mastering (i.e. 99% of today's pop/rock recordings) with EQ changes. That's why all this moaning about "sounds good with pop, bad with jazz", etc. A real high-end system will sound good with all properly mastered recordings. When you have loud iTunes-mastered stuff, you're going to be fooling with the EQ all day long.

wow that would be ear piercing treble! Really no point in turning up the treble controller.
You should use the bottom 3 or 4 equalizer bars to adjust the treble since the treble bar will take treble out of all frequencies rather than selectively out of only the range where it is too loud or too soft |

I have an E92 with EPS, I will definitely record my settings this afternoon and post here. I spent a lot of time making sure the response was flat (not smiley-faced EQ) and applicable to all types of music, i.e. levels of compression.

OK, here are my E92 settings for EPS.
Although I generally dislike a synthesized fake surround sound, I found Surround On to give a better soundstage, with more centered vocals. My settings below help reduce some of the crushing treble (at defaults) and still give enough bass to avoid distortion and med-high levels. |

My reference 2-channel system at home is Bowers & Wilkins N802 fronts, McIntosh MC-402 amp, Denon AVP processor. These settings are the closest I could get to match the balance of what I have at home. |

The rest of my settings are pretty close to yours. This car has way to much mid-range for my liking.

I have changed my settings again. I swear the sound has changed the longer I have the car.

+1 - Would definitely give my car up as a tester for it. I'm new when it comes to audio stuff. Also, anyone looking for the 2012 EPS amp, I have one here I'd like to offload since it won't work in my car without wiring changes ;(
