Polished 220 Forged Wheels

I finally finished my project of Polishing The factory Forged Wheels. I just polished the Lip and Face of the Spokes and Left the rest The way it came from the factory. I think it Stands out much better now, and adds a more Forged look to the wheel.

Can you describe your process of polishing these wheels or was this professionally done?

I Dismounted the tires and used a metal Polisher/Buffer that my friend has at his Machine shop. Did'nt have to strip the clear coat, I just went at it with the polisher. I did tape off the painted area next to the windows of the wheels to protect them.

Thanks, great job!

Did you clear coated the newly polished areas or are they bare?

I left them like Old Mother Hubbard's Cupboards. But I used a metal sealer wax From Master formula. It stops everything, Even water spots.
And the application and removal is very easy.

Well, you DO have to strip the clearcoat to polish the aluminum , and get rid of the honing marks. I was going to ask you how tough was to strip it, since my powdercoater had a hard time with the (fine) sand blaster, but guess it wasn't that hard with the polish you used. You should say which brand you used for folks wanting to do the same. And yes, you need to protect the aluminum finish if you want it to last, especially if they ever see salt. Bet they look a lot better in person; I never liked the honing circles on my wheels either, but it was only visible at close distance. Good job .

now it looks more like e46 m3 polished stock 19 wheels. I like the finish on the e46 m3 stock 19 forged wheels. I think they are more shiny than the current e92 m3 wheels.
