DCT and Park Brake

Still don't have my car yet...but went to the dealer yesterday and they let me drive one a again(bad decision...only going to make the wait worse). So I really got to drive it like it was mine and got to test out everything. Luckily there was an ipod adapter in there so I got to try out the sound system...amazing!!!!

I love the DCT...its really not a true automatic. I love that rev you get in first gear before it takes off. And I noticed since it isn't a real auto, you go to be careful about how it rolls back and everything.
So my question is, do you have to use the park break like you would a manual, or after you shut the car off does it go into a true park mode? Because I notice when you open the door how it says P.

It's definitely NOT an automatic in the traditional sense.

You should use the parking brake, it's good practice. Once the engine is turned off and you see P, a parking gear is engaged and the car won't roll off.

When you want to park, put your car in neutral, then pull up the handbrake. When you shut the car off, it will go into P.

No, even in neutral the car won't necessarily roll, the lock doesn't disengage until you put the car into gear (forward or reverse)

what? When the car is off (P) the parking gear is engaged. Otherwise, if there is no throttle, the car is in N. Hill assist will hold the car for 3 seconds, but after that, the car will roll.

There is a way to do that. Like for example if you you gonna put the car through one of those car washing tunnels that requires the car to move. It's very well described in the manual and it will need you to insert the remote Jetton into the hole next to the start/stop push button.
