Skyline Run V - Sept. 11th

This is a Euro sport/super car event. (with the exception of Cashman and his GTR

)

Skyline Run V is Saturday, September 11th. It's the weekend after a major holiday so there's usually less traffic, people want to just stay home since they spent all their money the previous weekend.
Meet in the commuter parking lot behind Stone Ridge shopping center at 10am and plan to leave at 10:30am. If you look on Google maps, it's the parking lot to the left of the buildings. Address:

The route will be about the same as last time except it has been changed so lunch is at VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 1860 in Front Royal. They have a lot which can handle about 40 cars and then a grass lot for overflow. JP Charles (Lotus Exige S) has made the arrangements for us, Thank You! Food will be usual cafe food and supports the VFW which is a great thing to do on 9/11. Please remember that they accept CASH ONLY! If you get lost, just punch this into your nav and meet us there:

Where are you Porsche and Audi? If I'm missing a car type, let me know! Post here if you're planning on going, and the car you'll be driving, so I can get the list together. If you're reading this and are not a member of this board, just E-mail me at darkfiber@verizon.net. We have around 50 cars coming so far which means we will need to split up into two groups; an enjoy the road group and an enjoy the road and scenery group

I'd like the split to be 25/25 or 20/20/10 as I don't think these roads can handle more than 20 cars without congestion. I'll be handing out route details in case you find yourself without anyone in front of you.

Message me if you would like to study the route before the drive.

The 1st group will be led by me. I completely ignore suggested cornering speeds (which is perfectly legal). I do drive at a quick pace and I brake late and hard so drivers in this group will need to be completely focused on the road. It's important to be familiar with the limits of your car - it makes the road a safer place to be

A few rules, we don't drive more than 10mph over the speed limit on highways. There ARE cops. We wont be on the highway for very long so its not worth it anyway. If you're driving around a blind left curve, stay all the way to the right side of the road. If you're coming over a hill, stay all the way to the right side and slow down enough so that you can break in time if something is on the other side. Not following these rules will result in death - says Murphy and his law.

Remember to bring your cameras and car mounted cams for the video!!!

I want to make a good Skyline Run video and the more film we have, the better the video. So bring your DROID and zip-tie it to the grill!

Did you mean "same route" as the last run or as the very first run that took us through Skyline drive on the 1st run?
It'd be about one year this Fall since the first run. happy anniversary!

Count me in. Last time was a blast - I drove that road through the forest again a couple of weeks ago when I was in the area. Just awesome. Maybe I'll bring the MGB this time, instead of the M3. It's technically Euro.

I really don't have any preference for lunch, but I'm always for a Slurpee stop at the end.

Awesome! I have a couple more people who E-mailed me so this is already looking to be a great turn out. I'm still thinking about the route and will post all those details when it's final. This will not include Skyline Drive, just a lot of great back roads with little to no traffic and no cops.
