Meh, you're okay, I can't recall that you've said anything that's rubbed me the wrong way. Seriously, this guy is in a troll league of his own.

im going to hate to see my 335 go i hate to say it,

Bush league beck! This is a repost of yours and un-original. Your least amusing post yet! I am disappointed. Please drink and or smoke more before your next post(preferably not while driving)

Besides you are wrong, to neglect to mention that about 1/2 the price dif and lack of performance difference is because of the sedan --> convertible. People are getting loaded m3 now for under 800 a month, and loaded m3 convertibles for close to 900. The new m3 comp coupes are running best recorded times almost a full second faster then the 335 (4.9 vs 3.9). So mabey you just don't like the convertible? You always get less bag for your buck as you move up.

First your an idiot for having $1600 monthly going out the window on the worst of all depreciating assets. Secondly, your whining about the difference in gas mileage of what 8mpg?

You should keep the 335i and get rid off the M3. The M3 is not for you, if you are complaining about it.

Buying an M3 is logical only if you have no issues with the money, such that I'd guess you should be making at least 20k/month > for someone over 30+ who has a wife and a kid and a mortgage payment. If you make a quarter of that and save for 10 years and spend your savings for M3, it is a waste of money. The problem is, M3 is in this sort of affordable range of sports cars and is one of the most popular/commonly sold car in its league. So sometimes people who are not meant to be driving the car ends up getting it and regretting it. The difference between an M3 and a 335 does not warrant the %50 price premium if you are not a rich person, simple as that. All the suspensions, and the brakes, and how "M3 feels" and how "M3 is an M3, 335 is not an M3" argument is an idiotic argument. If money is no question, you are an idiot for not getting an M3, if it is a question, you are an idiot for buying one and claiming its the right choice.

BTW, the V8 is one of the lightest V8's in the world - if not *the* lightest.
If you are getting 18 mpg on an M3, I don't think you know how to drive it or you are wasting your time (and the car's probably) driving it. I get less than 17-17.5 mpg in my 335 driving it I'd consider somewhat aggressively. How can you get 18 mpg in the V8 high revving it?

WhaaaT? This M V8 is lighter than I-6. Maybe you don't know how to drive M3? You have to keep the RPM above 5k

You are right, 335i is an awesome package for the money, but you can not

compare it to M3. Have you driven E93 335? To be fair, you should compare

vert to vert, and not light weight coup/sedan to heavier vert.

BMW says their 414 HP V8 weighs 445 pounds
Mercedes says their 6.2 liter (451-518 HP) V8 weighs 439 pounds
Chevrolet says their 6.3 liter (426-436 HP) V8 weighs 436 pounds

Chevrolet, at least, weighs their engines according to an SAE Standard.

Not to take anything away from BMW. That's one terrific engine - although personally I'd like it even better if it were punched out a bit (as per the GTS version).

Edit: And doesn't the new Ford 5-liter V8 weigh in around 420-something pounds?

I agree with the statement that if you are worried about gas mileage then you probably should not be spending that much money on a car. I hear Toyota is having deals on the Prius right now

There are a number of reasons to be concerned about gas mileage besides money, range being one of them.

From my point of view the M3's mileage is a very weak point, and the car is bettered in that regard by the RS4, Camaro and Mustang, each of which is heavier, with similar or more power.
