Went skydiving today

And it was awesome. We jumped from 13500 feet with a full minute of free fall.

it's something everybody should try.

No. It was a spur of the moment type of thing and I didn't have the extra 120 bucks

My friends and co-workers have been asking me to go. I'm just freaking scare of that kind of height though so that's a no-no. I'm sure it's fun when you actually do it. For me, however, it's just too crazy.

That's how I felt too. My sister and my gf convinced me to do it and 20 minutes later we were getting geared up...I dent have time to think about it. Haha

What a coincidence, I jumped yesterday morning. It was my first time too, but maybe not the last. Were you at Calverton?

I know exactly what you mean, I went with two friends and we all said nothing for the 30 minute drive home except for "holy sh!t" and "dude"...LOL

I've been shot at and avoided surface to air missiles in a slow cargo plane and I didn't get the high that the dive gave me!

I've been jumping for years, it is great fun. For those of you that are scared of heights, you will be fine. It sounds odd but you are so high that your brain doesn't really register.

I went for the first time earlier this month as well, and it was an amazing experience. We fell through a cloud on the way down which really added to the already crazy sense of speed.

I organized a group of 6 of us to go and the girl who went up with me (we were the first two to go from our group) is normally sweet and reserved. On the way up to altitude words were coming out of her mouth that I never thought I would hear from her When we met up on the ground, she couldn't have been happier that she went.

Ohhhh, I just saw your sig and it finally registered in my mind. My friends and I were waiting at the first picnic table when one of the girls exclaims, "Is that the new 1-series? I like it." So I turn around and sure enough, there goes a SG 135 with the top down cruising, presumably looking for a parking spot. I mentioned to her the color and engine and forgot about it until just now haha. Yea we got there around 830am and jumped at 1030am or so. Did you see a debadged SG wagon parked kinda far from the entrance in the grass? Or maybe you saw when my group landed; I was the bearded Asian dude.

That's what one of my friends said too. We asked her which was scarier: skydiving or bungee jumping, and she said hands down bungee jumping is because you can still see the ground clearly when you jump, and you immediately feel that sense of speed while you watch the ground getting closer and closer moments before the cord snaps you to safety.

I just went today too!!!!! First time, also at 13.5k ft. I had a reservation at 11:00am, but didn't jump until 4:00PM because of the cloud cover, but it was COMPLETELY WORTH THE WAIT!!!

The one thing I wasn't expecting was that you don't 'feel' like you are falling, and without seeing the ground rushing up at you, you might as well be floating.

Anyone who has ever considered it, DO IT. You will want to go up again as soon as you hit the ground

Yeah that was me then. I actually parked right near your car as I had to go to the end to park. I don't remeber seeing you but I was the slightly heavy guy in the mets shirt in the group of three girls.

I think so they can be prepared just in case, since there have been so many planes crashing recently
