Last night with the ///M

Hello all, this will be my last post as an owner of my e90 M3. I am taking delivery of my f80 today, but will miss the high-revving masterpiece of an engine this car has. I had one of my buddies take some photos of my car last night, the last night with my M3. Enjoy, I know I did!

Saying good bye to the old M. Was a great run! Will give my personal opinion on the e90 vs. f80 later on tonight or tomorrow!

Nicee! Looking forward to your spontaneous comparison, but also after you have run the F80 for while and started to get your arms around ups and downs.

Thanks!

OP - congrats on your new acquisition.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on E90 v F80 because I consider this change everyday. It takes physical effort for me to not drive to the dealer and just sign the damn papers for an F80.

Aesthetically, the only thing I would change about the M4 (in my current mindset) would be a more aggressive hood or fenders. I am contemplating buying an M4 as well, but I feel like it's really hard to jump from an M3 to an M4 unless it's simply just for a "new car". Mostly due to the price being 2-3 times higher. Personally, what made you move to the M4?

Haha and working at the dealership made it even harder for me to resist, which is why I gave in

I'm going to do an accurate comparison once I pass the break-in period, so I can drive it hard and really compare the two (I drove the e90 exceptionally hard some times). I can tell you as of right now, just driving casually, the F80 feels much more rigid overall than the e90 did, while also feeling more planted when cornering. But the e90 steering felt a little more raw.

I actually stuck with the F80 M3, although I did contemplate the M4. I just couldn't help but love the body lines of the M3 especially with a rear-end that made it seem more like a performance car with the wide rear fenders. I do think that adding hood vents like on the e90 M3 would have made the hood a little more aggressive looking though!

the stock sound has taken a little getting used too, but I definitely love hearing the turbo spool like I did on my e92 335 that was fbo ..one of my co-workers also has an f80 with downpipes in it and my god it sounds like a damn beast. but there's nothing like hearing a N/A v8 scream!

I definitely will give my comparison of both! I just want to get by the break-in period first so I can drive the F80 hard like I did the e90 But so far I can tell you that the f80 feels overall much more rigid, while the steering felt more raw in the e90. Cornering feels much more planted in the F80 as well. And the sound, well, to each their own on that one!

Haha no worries! We have been getting a lot more M4s orders than M3s in at the dealership. But there's nothing like a beast sedan!
