Nice, I've got an S-type as well and love the rumble. What are your thoughts?

I definitely will have to look at my installation again. Mine is not flush to the bumper (front to back) like yours is. On the rear can, did you happen to see which hole they used to attach side hangers?

I like the rumble! One tech told me that the sound will change a bit over the next few days as the ECU/DME adjusts to the reduced backpressure.

The techs spent about 10 mins. adjusting the pipes to make sure that they were flush and level. Unfortunately I didn't see which hole they used to attach the side hangers.

IMO, pretty close to the Supersprint video that was show in another thread. But with a deeper rumble. I've yet to hear an exhaust with a lower pitch to be honest.

I also went ahead and deleted all cats, but I love the way mine sounds. Just not the way it fits right now.

It sounds great. The exhaust has a growl and presence that's lacking in the stock unit. I also notice a slight burble (which I like).

Is there any drone in typical driving circumstances, say 2000-3000rpm? Was hoping for something mildly aggressive sounding when in the upper RPM's but civilized in lower. Seems for the price this is the best option maybe.

There is some at around 2200, under high load (like going up a hill). But again, keep in mind I'm running a completely catless setup. With full cats, I'd venture to say it's pretty mild.

I'm looking at just going with MS Test Pipes and this exhaust, I would like the stock resonators and secondary cats in place. I still want something civil if I need it to be. Slight bit of drone pulling a steep hill is fine but in typical driving like chugging around town or freeway/highway at 60-80mph with little load I want it to be fairly quiet.

Don't mean to derail this thread but haven't seen many reviews of the S-type muffler (which I assume is the same as the older "aggressive" series prior). Have found quite good pricing on this system and it looks very nice.

If you are doing just TP and Borla, then that's fine. It's pretty tame IMO, but of course I came from a full ACM exhaust which was way too ridiculous. Since it was on the quiet side, I deleted the secondary cats, and the sound is exactly what I want, resonator still in place.

Just bought a Borla "s-type" as well. Waiting on the shipment. How is the drone? Can't wait to get it on and try it out!

Congrats!

There is some drone in the 2k rpm range and when you lug the engine, but as I understand it, that's a characteristic of all aftermarket exhausts. I'll say that a cold start in a garage is almost deafening. This exhaust is plenty loud. I can't imagine doing any other modifications to make it louder.

I got to listen to the S-type on W///'s car under all different load ranges for quite a while and like the tone. I was in another car either in fron or behind his. Not raspy or overly loud but you hear the car loud and clear when given some throttle. If your behind him.... you will smell it a mile away haha
