BMW Art Car Photo Contest Winner Wins Using Helicopter

The 17th BMW Art Car by Jeff Koons ran at the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans and a photo contest was commissioned by BMW in which the best photo of the BMW Art Car would earn its photographer a $1,000 prize. The winner is Rick Dole, who managed to take this winning photograph from a helicopter!

The judges of the photo contest included Dr. Mario Theissen (directory of BMW Motorsports) and BMW drivers Dirk Müller, Dirk Werner, and Andy Priaulx.

In a release from BMW, Dole said, "Le Mans is my absolute favorite track to photograph. This year, for the first time, I leased and photographed from a helicopter and was able to capture this wonderful image. I am honored and proud that BMW appreciates my work with this award."

Neither of the M3's were quick enough, they were not winning 24hr Le Mans no matter what happpened.
