The coding will not jump out at anyone during a service or refleash be a dealer. Its actually less detectable than nearly all other flashes, including Dinan.

Unless the car has some HUGE problem or engine failure, the dealer has no reason to look into the coding.

If the flash is overwritten be the dealer, we can arrange to have the ESS performance data recoded for you at no additional cost.

with the high flow cat software and the no CEL, does that mean it should pass emissions here in IL? or does "no CEL" not necessarily mean one could pass the OBD emissions.

It is designed to be scannable by OBD2 and show no codes.

thanks for sharing the info! i'm just waiting as i decide on what exhaust route to go. i'm looking for a good HFC XPipe that i'll like. there are just so many options out there, lol.

If I didn't already have the Dinan tune I would have def tried the Akra specific tune.
Im still somewhat tempted....

By doing a No CEL tune does it cause it to not light up even with other issues that should trigger the cel? Or is it strictly just for the cats?

It only kills the CEL code for the O2 sensors, not all things that would throw a CEL.

It is actually closer to 35 RWHP. The totally stock M3 in the first dyno graph put down 326 RWHP and the Akra and ESS tune did 362 RWHP. I realize that I may have been two different cars on two different days but even so it looks to me like 40+ CHP. I already have Dinan Racing Middle Exhaust Software in my M3 but I am thinking I am gonna do the Akra ESS Tune in the winter when the car is in storage.

Although the torque loss below 2500RPM is minor with the Akra Evo, you do notice it sometimes when lugging the car along in 6th gear at 50MPH or less when trying to pull a grade or accelerate without downshifting. The ESS Akra software shows gains in this area that are quite substantial which is amazing considering no other software has been able to rectify this issue.

You'll see some good gains with the ESS catless or Akrapovic tune for sure. The Dinan catless tune is the same as their normal tune, only it turns off the secondary o2 sensors. We have confirmed this with Dinan. ESS's tune is developed specifically to maximize the performance with the cats being deleted.

Im in the same boat, I have the Dinan tune and have been toying with the idea to get the ESS tune for my full Akra system.
Just not sure if I want to pay again for a tune.

Our customer went from the Dinan tune to the ESS tune on his M3 with Akra system and it was a HUGE difference and especially down low. The low end tweeks make the car drive SO much nicer in daily driving. It of course also shines when you get on it as well as up top in the rev range.
