Amazing car and photos! Thanks for the write up. Seems like a blast! What did you think of Frankfurt? I'm spending 2 weeks in Europe next year and I'm thinking of where to visit. I hear it's not the most special city in Germany?

And thankfully, because it was in Europe - you missed the Port Campaign!!

Glad to have been of service buddy - glad you love(d) it.

A mandatory meet up now your back is a must + fuller story telling.........

All the best

Regards

You're right, Frankfurt isn't so special. If you plan on being in the vicinity of Frankfurt, I highly recommend Wiesbaden, Mainz, and of course follow the Rhein River on the North shore Westbound out to Rudesheim.

Great write-up of your experience. I never get tired of reading about these sorts of trips even though I live in Germany.

Awesome photo journal! However, I think they forgot to put the M3 badge on your replacement trunk!

great write up, I am very interested in doing a EURO delivery on my next BMW.

Can you tell me, approx how much did you save off the car's price? Would you say that the savings covered the cost of your trip for the most part (air, hotel at the very least?)

And the car.....my thoughts exactly even though I didn't get the chance to push it on a track. Glad you had a great time and we'll probably meet sometime back here....if those boats ever arrive!!!

Mark
The Ring was the icing on the cake! Let's hope for speedy re-delivery!

Was disappointed when I read elsewhere in the forums that the 18s on the 2011's are coming with silver 18s.
The gunmetals were a nice surprise when I first spotted the car. I was expecting silver from pics I'd seen in the forums - eventhough my dealer assured me I'd get the gunmetals . Very happy I got the PS2s as well.

Prague had always been on my list. I will definitely do Rothenburg on my next ED!

It is worth the wait. This is my first BMW but thoroughly pleased so far!

Frankfurt, though an important financial center for all of Europe, was a little bit of letdown after Munich and Prague and all the other great towns along the way. I agree and would pass if you can make other arrangements. I was there only because I was dropping off and flying out of their excellent airport.

I wish we had a little more German efficiency in Toronto.

BMW couldn't get the badge on in time for me to take my car to Prague. They'll put it on before it gets redelivered. I did notice that in Europe, many of the cars don't have decklid badges...

$564 CDN over 2674 kilometers (driving pretty hard). Premium gas was about E1.50/L, about twice the price as in Canada.

ED in Canada as I understand it is essentially a no cost option.

Thanks for the great writeup!
We do not know each other (unfortunately), but we do have something in common:
- we picked rather similar cars (here is mine)

- and we were at Nürburgring at the same time and the same place. I also met the JPS Gallardo:

I remeber your car pretty good, because it was the first M3 with the new taillights I happened to see.

Took two rounds with the BMW Ringtaxi in the M5, propably the only thing you might have missed during your great trip over here:

But then, driving the Ring with a brand new M3 like you did is even better!

All the best to you and congrats on your new ride!

Thank you and sorry we did not get to meet. If you passed me on the Ring around 7pm on Monday the 24th, I think I have a video of your pass. My wife was driving "safely" and we both remember the other AW M3 that blew by us and quickly disappeared. I cannot quite make out the license plate on the video - I looks like it has less characters than yours.
