He's gotta have something to look forward to while waiting for the next season of Jersey Shore.

Wanna know what is even worse? The new stadium (along with the old one) is actually in New Jersey. But they still call the teams by their rightful names, New York Giants/Jets.

The Meadowlands was NJ too. And to BMWcadet, NJ actually got the game, not NY. NY just tends to forget the state border for a bit on Sundays.

This is a terrible idea for so many reasons. And I am not saying that because it is NY, I wouldn't want it in Baltimore, even though I live there.

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying guys.

I guess the biggest issue will be the weather with this game. Hopefully it doesnt become another "Ice bowl".

Honestly.... It is going to be so friggin cold! This is going to be hilarious. Now all the other fans will see what it is like to watch a play-off game in the cold of NY! And that is the best case scenario. In the northeast in February, it freezing rains, sleets, and snows any time it precipitates; which is like once a week.

I'll never forget the Ravens/Skins game 2 years ago in January here. Night time. Windchill was -10. I was in a shit ton of layers of hunting gear. It was miserable. If you are not accustomed to it, it would be so hard to enjoy the game.

This is such a bad idea. I don't really understand why anyone would be thrilled about this, ESPECIALLY a new yorker. I lived in Manhattan for 10 years and there was nothing worse than the tourist crowds on Christmas and New Years. Now you want to deal with more of them clogging up the sidewalks for the super bowl???

The Ice Bowl is know as one of the best games every played. The weather was one of the things that made it great. When real men played the game and attended the games.

It takes about 2 hours now to get to the Meadowlands on a regular football Sunday. NY'ers deal with it. Like muggings in Baltimore, its part of the charm.

Everyone is forgetting that it is not just a game. People usually go to the location for 3 days. They essentially take a long weekend vacation. It was nice for me to go to Tampa. Hang out by the pool. Go to the beach at Clearwater for a day. NYC in Feb not exactly a relaxing place.

Have you ever been to a Superbowl? You act as though the only people going there are New Yorkers. This isn't the 1960's, people don't want to voluntarily sit in -10 degree weather. Also Superbowl's bring ALOT of money to whichever city is hosting, yet if there's shitty weather who's going to go outside? There's a reason it hasn't been held in crappy weather states and this is just a terrible idea, but I could care less, i'll just watch it on TV.

The stadium will be filled. New york will be packed. People will enjoy the game/weekend. It will just be another super bowl. People can be negative all they want. If it snows, it will only add to NYC's charm. Why should warm weather teams always have the advantage in Super Bowls. If the NFC/AFC championship game can be played in the elements why should the Super Bowl be any different?

I agree with the philosophy that football should be played in any weather. But for the Superbowl, I would prefer to see 2 teams play each other where the players can perform at their best. It's nothing against NY. I love NYC. It wouldn't be a concern for me had the stadium had a roof. I would hate to see a game full of turnovers and 3 and outs due to bad weather. But that's just my opinion.

Exactly. No one wants to see a shitty game due to weather. The game should be played in optimal conditions so that you get the best of both teams and a fun game.

Because football teams work all year to have homefield advantage. They earn the right to have it in their stadium. Typically the Superbowl is a neutral site.

I will admit though, one thing you did say made me and a few guys in the office laugh. "Snow will only add to NYC's charm"...I thought the stadium was in New Jersey? It won't be just like any other Superbowl and you must pretty be naive to think so.

NY is a great place to visit and have a mini-vacation at. Not to live.

And that should be the only reason it's mistake. The only reason.

I'm so annoyed at everyone saying how it's unfair for warm weather teams. If that's the logic than playing any regular season game is unfair too.
