I had my Dunlop Star Specs mounted today.
I ask the guys at Discount tire if they can still get them, he said they can, but it might take a little more work on their end.
They did not know if Tireracks exclusive deal with have any impact on their pricing.
Looks like I got them just in time.

Well since they are not R compounds they don't need to be heat cycled, but there is some oil and grease from the manufacturing process that needs to come off.
I will probably mount them a week or two before my track date to get some miles on them and scrub all that stuff off.

Some guys on Bimmerforums feel they need a couple heat cycles to really grip.

Did you go 265/275? I'm annoyed TireRack jacked the price and they're only giving $20 back a set now.
You got a deal dude.

Ya, I went 265/275. I wish they made a 285/35.
That reminds me, I gotta send in the rebate.

They increased the price $15-20 per tire, I just noticed that also.

running 265 and 285 AD08s for my track set-up...

bummer star specs don't come in 285s.. i would have gone along with that as well..

They don't need to be shaved for use on the HPDEs, they do provide significantly more grip shaved if you are competing in a race or time attack. However, the life of a tire will be significantly reduced.

I have another set of hankoook RS-3 shaved to 5/32 for the actual time attack event and will leave the AD08s for qualifying and practice.

Where did you get the alignment done?
Tires look good. I'll probably be getting the same.

Car looks sick. Are those Apex wheels? I love the red for a track set-up.
And yor profile say's Philly, but that pic looks like California Speedway but the car has Fontana Nissan on it?
Were you running the Roval?
