So, Just received the new V4 angel eyes by lux for my 2013 m3 dct. They are amazing. No comparison to stock.. no comparison to GP Thunders, No comparison to the V3's as you get the color change option. like night and day on all of those accounts.. I cannot believe how bright these new V4's are.. This literally looks like the new LCI lighting.. I personally could not tell the difference between this and LCI.

I opted to set the switches to the 5700k option as I wanted a white look with the slightest touch of blue.. 5200k didn't have enough blue to it to where I would notice a big difference from 5k to 5.2k. I don't like a strong blue as that makes the lights look some what cheap and aftermarket.. Factory look is what i'm going for.

The LCI's look almost like they have a slight slight touch of blue. I compared the lights to my family members 5 series LCI's to make sure the match was nice. I honestly cannot say anything bad about these. I hope they last at least a couple years for me, that would be my only concern is that these would stop working.. It is nice to have the warranty for sure.

On a bright sunny day, I can see these perfectly. They really stand out nicely. I cannot say enough good things about this product. The install wasn't bad at all, as I have swapped my lights enough times to the point that i'm kinda an expert on light swaps now.

Here are some pictures, and as always, keep in mind that pictures do no justice to angel eyes as they are hard to photograph.

install for V4 is the same as V3. very straight forward.. Just mind the LED's.. don't hit them while installing otherwise lux will void your warranty.

to me, and again this is my opinion, They are 25% brighter than the V3's.. the V4's have double the amount of LED's on them than the V3's have, This is for the mixed color range option.. Due to the higher amount of LED's lighting up, the brightness level will go up.

Some people may say they are more than 25% brighter, and some people may say they are a little less. Bottom line is, there is a noticeable difference between the V3 and V4 brightness level. It's a really sunny day here, I was really surprised at how bright these were in direct sunlight. You can see in my picture above that I took of the car in the sun.

Those look great!! I'm content with my V3, however. Might consider upgrading if mine die.

are there marked differences between the color options? I got Lux's email and had to lol because the colors all looked the same to my eyes.

I just ordered a set of the V4, time to replace my V2's. What is interesting, is my V2's are 6500K which should be blue, but they are more white like the 5700k setting above. Must be the different LEDs.

Yeah, You're not going to really notice the blue at all during the day on anything under 6900k.. But at night from a distance, you will pic up hints of blue which is all I like are just "hints" of blue and mostly white.

anything set over 6900K on these and you will notice during the day for sure.

Also installed the v4 yesterday. I have to agree with op. I never had any other lux products to compare brightness, so I can't comment on how much brighter v4 is. I do think at night there is a very prominent blue hue on the higher settings. No matter what setting you use it is miles better than OEM. I anticipate I will play around with the different light settings in the beginning until I finally settle on something.

Install wasn't bad and I am a first timer with this mod. I wouldn't let that top you from purchasing. The flat section on the heatsink is a huge improvement. I found you really want to pay attention to the orientation just before you remove the original bulb so you know exactly how to orient the lux.

Here are some more pictures I took today in direct VERY sunny light. The other two pictures were taken when the sun went behind some clouds for a minute. That is so you can see the difference in direct sunlight and overcast.

again, pictures do no justice as they are brighter in real life. please keep in mind that my car was facing the sun and look how bright they still are... I cannot ask for anything more from lux..

Thanks

not really about to take my lights apart again to switch it.. I don't like 7k. just look at lux.com for their color range picture.. it won't show you anything different then my pic would show.

I just installed these and they look great. The adjustable settings are really nice as well, I'm on 5.2k where you can see just the slightest bit of blue. 5.0k looked like it had a hint of yellow, though both are bright white and a huge step up over stock. The extreme upper settings look absurd, imo, though I'm sure there's a market for that.

Even having never installed angel eyes before, installation was not difficult. That said, there's not much room in there to work with! Even getting the stock lights out can be tricky since there's so little room. I've read about people griping that they could fit their hands inside - right, impossible. I just used 2 or 3 fingers to get r done. Location of the ballast box is the only part I'm not 100% comfortable with, though everything checks out ok with the adaptive lights.

All in all a great aesthetic mod that has me turning on my DRL setting
