E46 Factory Paintwork Quality

Have any of you guys noticed the horrible finish work on in the engine bay area and trunk area. All of the E46 cars I've looked at have this. Cars with no re-paint or accident history?? Just wondering..

My friend has a E46 328i and it's the same on his trunk/engine bay...I think they don't clear-coat those areas....but unlike the E46, the exterior paint quality on the E9X M3's I've seen SUCKS. They have SO much orange peeling...mine too...

The engine bay and trunk area are supposed to be like that. I had an e46 before my e90 and the paint quality was just average on both.

The engine bay/trunk/ interior area is not clear coated thats why it seems like that
