WTB/WTT: My 2009 for your 2008 Black front leather front headrests
I have the new style, fixed (non-tiltable), 2009 headrests, apparently following a newer tougher rear impact standard. The design is similar, leather is the same, but the 2009 models are fixed. I would like to trade mine for a set of 2008 front black M3 headrests (Coupe or Sedan), plus cash. To make myself clear, I'd pay cash and send you my 2009 front headrests, for your 2008 front headrests. I'd take care of shipping both ways. New, they are about $250 a piece from Tischer (to figure out a fair cash difference). If the price is right, I'd be willing to buy a set of 2008 outright. If interested, please PM me...

Hey kmarei, we've met before - several transactions with HiFi speakers.
All I have is taken with a droid phone. If you're interested, we could meet for lunch perhaps?

After meeting with kmarei and trying to remove my headrests we realized that starting in 2009, BMW utilizes active crash headrests, which have a device in them which will push them forward and upward in the event of a rear collision.
So the headrest has a wire coming through one of the pillars and in order to remove it the seatback needs to be removed first. Not an issue, but disconnecting the headrest I think will trigger the airbag light. I'm putting this mod on hold for now, not sure I want to deal with all the problems...
