Sustainability in Seafood and foods in general.

The media is bring this issue up again and again.

Since I'm in this industry, just curious to if people really do care about sustainability and would you be willing to pay for keeping something sustainable?

For all we know, they could just be marketing tools.

For me, the question is "pay who?" and "why?" I don't think that managing fisheries for example in a "sustainable" manner has to necessarily increase the costs of working that fishery. What I generally see happening is that the costs are generated because an industry isn't receptive, adaptive or pro-active in working "sustainably", thereby inviting government intervention. It is this intervention, with the resulting rash of legislation (full of unintended consequences) and the bloated bureaucracy that drives up the cost of "sustainable" fisheries or food production.
