If you witnessed Hit and Run 210 fwy 11-23

So last night at 11:10pm on the 210 in Azusa I was in the 2nd or 3rd lane (don't remember) I was traveling around 70mph. I took rear impact from somebody doing over 100mph. Put me into a spin and when I came to a stop I took a head on collision from another vehicle.

One witness said they thought it was an Acura TL that hit me but they didn't grab a plate. They took a video with their phone but CHP wasn't able to make out any plates.

I'm pretty bummed as I already had about 13k invested in the car and was supposed to get more work done today. Looks like the car may be a total loss based on the damage to the rear and I don't think I will be able to recover my parts (x pipe, intake, pulley, CF trim pcs, suspension etc).

Pretty shitty. Only good news is I'm OK

Go swap out parts for stock. Don't care a long as car is complete.

Wowwww! Glad to hear you're okay bro! That's a big time felony hit and run looking accident right there. This is going to sound absolutely stupid, but have you considered looking into forensics, tire treads, security cameras, enhanced cell phone video. If you can get a copy of it, send it to me and I might be able to help. What about front plate imprints on your real bumper, partials?

I think hit and runs + felony hit and runs should be equal punishment. It shouldn't matter if somebody is injured or fine, any accident you cause and flee from should result in a heavy jail sentence. This is one of my huge political standpoints. I'd be more than happy to toss myself into it to help you find the other driver and throw the book at them.

Sorry to hear, but at least you emerged unscathed. As someone already pointed out, take the upgraded parts off and replace with OEM if possible. Insurance will not care as long as they get a complete car. Hope they catch the guy.

OP was going 70 and the other car was going 100...so the impact was really more like a 30mph one, not the full 100.

Still, agree that he's lucky it didn't turn out worse.

sure, I agree, but it was on the highway, and a lot of shit can go wrong at higher speeds

Was definitely a little scary there when I came to a stop and saw more cars coming at me. Super glad to walk away without a scratch!!! I will know tomorrow if the car is a total loss or not. I've also worked it out with a shop that will help me recover the aftermarket parts in the case of a total loss.

I would love to keep the car but think my resale value will be sh*t if I ever parted with the car.

It might be a silly question, why are you telling him to put the OEM parts on? What's the deal with insurance company?

A total loss requires you to sell the car to the insurance company as a complete car. They don't care if the parts are performance parts that were on the car. They likely will not even look under the hood with all of that damage (adjuster didn't look under my hood or under my car when my previous car was totaled). They just want a whole car they can sell to a junkyard at auction. Why not remove the upgraded parts and replace them with the OEM stuff? Insurance won't care and OP gets to put his parts on his new car or sell them.

I was scheduled to put my Eisenamann exhaust on Monday along with a trip to Vorsteiner to install all the parts in my living room Guess it was a blessing because all of those parts would have been destroyed.

So just talked with the adjuster and he thinks it's going to be a loss. Makes me sad but I'm already looking for replacements. Good news is he said they would be fine with me towing the car to a shop to have all aftermarket pieces replaced with the stock parts in my garage.

Now on to search for a new E92
