Quick Review- Matte Black SF-71 on AW E90M3 (ghetto pics)

I recently purchased matte black SF-71 from Eric@PYspeed (Eric's service was top notch. Thanks again, Eric!). While my buddy was wrapping my roof, I decided to take some pictures of my wheels.

I went with their M3 offset (I believe +15 front, +20 rear).
As I don't like using spacers, their aggressive offsets fit really nicely than OEM 19s (especially the fronts).

Wheel Design
As a fan of CH-R and RAC, SF71 fits the style I was looking for at bargain price. I looked at Forgestar (spell correct?) but I didn't like (straight my own preference) how their spokes get closer at the ends (compare to more straight spokes from CH-R and RAC).

Construction
When it was balanced (balance/mount from ACG San Diego, thanks James and Peter!), I was surprised how many wheel weights are on the wheels. I'm not a wheel expert so I don't have much I can tell you but my previous wheels I owned (BBS and Nismo by Rays) never had that many weights before.

Finish
I was honestly disappointed by their work. Driver side front wheel was not fully painted on the back (I see potion of silver on the inside of the wheel). But I spoke to Matt@Alu and the owner of the company and they're trying to resolve this issue (getting a replacement wheel). So far, I'm happy with their service and will keep you guys updated with how things go with them.

Tires
I wanted to try either Vredestein or Hankook Evo V12. But as I read good reviews from C&D (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279362), I went with Hankook this time (also availability at Tirerack and 50 bucks rebate helped me to decided quite easily). As Evo V12 Doesn't come in OEM 19 sizes, I went with 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 just like RAC guys. I can't find any tire that matches OEM rear's overall diameter well and with my lack of knowledge of the tires, I just followed what RAC guys did (I figured if somebody is going to spent 4k and wait 6 months to get their wheels, I figured they know what they're doing). Overall looks very nice on my SF71 + Dinan setup. Love somewhat meaty look of tires on the sedan.
Since I only put 200-300 miles, I can't tell you much about tires but man, these tires are so quite compare to PS2!

Overall Impression of SF71
Wheels look pretty good and well made for the price. I'm happy with what I got although their finish issue, I'm hoping to get resolved pretty soon as Matt@Alu is working on it.

Thanks again Eric @ PYspeed and James, Peter @ ACG for great service and work. And, Matt@ Alu who is working hard to get me a replacement wheel.

Looks good man. Car is coming together nicely.

BTW, using lots of wheel weights is pretty standard for cheap wheels. I was shocked how many weights they had to put on the VMR's I bought from Kevin.

Alu pmed me and they're offering to replace off-painted wheels. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

CashOnly, yeah- since I'm kinda done with most of bolt-ons, I'm trying to finalize some cosmetic stuff I was holding on for a while. Are you going coming to the next meet?

Well, perhaps, but lots of weights on really nice wheels happens to. It is probably more about the tires than the wheel. I had to place two stacked layers of weights on my RACs! Ugly, ugly, esp. silver on black,

Possible-Cash and I have same tires, Hankook.

BTW, sorry that I didn't reply your PM. I'm open for most of Sat mornings. What day most of us want to go for ride? Let me know. I'll make fit in my schedule.

I'll try this weekend.
But the problem is that black wheels are not showing at all in the distance when taking pictures. Especially when camera is focused on white car, black is even darker. But will try a few shots soon.

Those wheels look great. I like the aggressive offsets. Keep us posted on the hankooks. I've been looking at them too.

My pleasure to get it all worked out for you. Wheels look great! Talk to the tire shop to see if they compensate the tires run-out directly opposite to the rim run-out and it should help with the weights.

Congratulations!

It's because you complained publicly

How you like your dinan exhaust? I'm loving mine!

Hey MrHarris,
Yeah- I love mine as well. Sounds very good. Not too loud and meaner/deeper tone than stock. When you get bored with sound, add Dinan mid pipe. It makes it sounds so much meaner and louder but not annoying level (also it gives you most power out from the regular bolt-on mods).

I hate you....
Kia Optima hit me and lied to insurance so their insurance decline to fix my car (happened before last Thanksgiving).
It's not too big to repaint whole bumper (with my money, at least 500 deductible) but big enough to bother me (and apparently forum member can see it at 72 dpi picture)....
