Great report & pics!

One question though, I see you have the BMW performance steering wheel but it seemed to be 'turned off' in the video - is this a mod you regret doing or was it off putting on the track?

It was actually switched on but you can't see it from the angle of the camera. Keep in mind that it is also quite bright.

I think the PSW is very useful on the track, in fact a lot more useful on the track than in street driving. I used to put red line at 5000rpm to see the lights flashing when I first got my PSW. I got tired after a week of it and found it rather distracting. Nowadays, I turn it on when I drive on the street and keep it on the oil/water temperature screen and put redline at 8000rpm.

On the track I actually put the redline all the way up at 8300rpm. It is useful for me as I don't look down at the tachometer or speedometer much, with the lights flashing in your peripheral vision, it helps to tell you when to shift. I like it how it blinks as well because our brains are wired in a certain way that blinking lights catches our eye a lot better.

Nice. So how much track time did you get? Is this like an open track day but with time being tracked?

Possibly a silly question but do you leave MDM/DSC on or is it switched off during these track runs?

Funny, I was supposed to be at this event as a spectator (I was meeting up with a few friends are big EVO STi guys to go karting before hand then see the time attack) but I was sick. Kinda cool I'm reading about a fellow forum member winning the thing.

Congrats man !
Im very interested in your setup. Changing the pads and brake liquids is my next step, and Im happy of hearing that you didnt suffer any fadding and even you can carry on the street.

Are you thinking on installing any front or rear strut bar ? How about the coil over suspensions ?

Regards !

That is truly great. You have inspired me to finish out the mods on my wife's car to make it a real track machine - to the extent a heavy e89 35i can be a decent track car. We have the power mods, now I need to add light weight wheels, better tires, SS brake lines and brake pads, and probably a set of H&R Sport Springs to lower and stiffen the car a bit. Keep it up.

Once I pay off Uncle Sam tomorrow I will recover and through on the rest of the mods in a couple of months.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does the "3.62 Salisbury Diff" provide over the stock diff in our M3's?
Current Stable: Some Audi with a V10, Couple of BMW's, one F Car, and one P car. One lonely GT-R with all the Euros.
