They're the real thing. Stripped then chromed by a shop in LA.

I can live with that then, I would hate for it to be replica chrome that weighs a freaking tonne.

Although, I must say I prefer the OEM high polished silver more.

I don't know. I am not a fan of Chrome on BMW, but it looks very good on Mercedes and Bentley. On BMW I like Black Chrome.

While I can't stand chrome wheels in general (there are a few exception) these look like they turned out nicely.

I still prefer the factory finish much more but if you like them then enjoy!

Have you a couple of pics from further away...I'm thinking of having my spare set done in something similar or maybe some sort of shadow chrome so it looks a bit like this 997.
