If it's a manual, Porsche Carrera S. Otherwise CLS550.

You can't go wrong with the Carrera S. However, I haven't seen very many going for under $80k (its amazing what Porsche charges for options).

I configured a Carrera 4S with a moderate amount of options and it came out to $103K. But after one drive, even my wife told me that I should get it as my next car!

You can get a few yr old 911 Turbo (9960 for that $$. I would get that over the Carrera any day. I have driven the C4S and wasnt that impressed (compared to the Cayman S). Now a turbo on the other hand... thats a completely different story.

Or wait a little longer and get the new M3. That is going to be a crazzzzy ass car.

I drove the 996 Turbo and 997 C4S back-to-back and actually came away more impressed with the 997 (non-turbo). Even though the turbo obviously had more power, the 997 had much more impressive handling and felt like the better car (the new 997 is only a few seconds slower around the Nurburgring despite the significant power difference). But you are correct, the prices on 996 Turbos are VERY attractive right now.

The last time I tried to configure a Porsche, I think it separated the interior trim to driver's door and passenger's door...
