inexpensive way to get clown nose to blink?
Hey Guys - I asked this question a few months ago (see link)...but is there a cheaper way to get the red clown nose to blink if you don't have the alarm? I had read on the Z4 forum that the BMW dealer will do it for you (some will and some won't). Is that the same deal with our e9x M3's? I hear it only takes about 10-15 minutes of their time to get it to blink when you lock your doors w/the key fob.
I know there are aftermarket solutions out there that do a lot more than just make the nose blink (EAS)...but if I just want the nose to blink so it looks like it's "armed"...isnt' there a cheaper way? http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...ght=clown+nose |

Do a search here. I believe I read that this is NOT possible with the E9x M3s.
It was possible with the E46 M3, I had it done. I recall they wanted to charge me extra for it -- I think it was around $50, but could be wrong -- however they decided to be nice and throw it in when I had the car personality (or whatever they call it) set to my preferences. You know, like hitting the open button on the key once to unlock all doors rather than twice.

Just buy / make a circuit causing a bright LED to blink, if you like, adjustable. However, wiring may be a noticeable effort and you would have to switch it on/off manually. I personally would not do this. In fact, even full working and integrated alarm systems don't impress anybody when it comes to crime.
