I agree. The interior of the Cayenne II is amazing, though.

Best regards,

Personally I think this is the best looking big SUV, much better looking than the new Cayenne, X5, Q7 or ML. But interiorwise there is only one stunning SUV and that's the new Cayenne, simply glorious.

Though I don't rate the Touareg's interior as adventurous it does still look well and with it's combination of Audi A8 switchgear and high quality materials it should still be among the best of live with.

Great news, Should be lighter than the current model and maybe they made some refinements on the pneumatic suspension.

nice:

"The range kicks off with a 3.0-liter V6 TDI diesel that churns out 240HP and 405 lb-ft of torque that returns 38.1mpg UK, 31.8mpg US or 7.4lt/100km on the combined EU cycle, with 195g/km of CO2.

Next up is the 4.2-liter V8 TDI diesel with 335HP and a massive 590 lb-ft of torque that is said to achieve a combined 31mpg UK, 25.8 mpg US or 9.1 lt/100km with 239g/km of CO2."

VW's new design language is really damn good. What a great looking SUV. The exterior design is well resolved with some nice details, and I don't see anything wrong with the interior.

Not sure if it's the best looking SUV, but this would make my short list for sure.

+1

I think I prefer the X5, especially the facelifted M-sport to be honest. However, this makes me think twice because X5s are very common and you see them more often. This new Touareg with R-line kit would be epic.

Is this a full body change? They called the last one "Touareg2" although it seemed like a facelift at most.

I really liked the Touareg, and almost even got one when they first came out, BUT they have a very poor reputation for reliability.

This should be called the "True Touareg 2" because, exactly as you said, the Egg2 was really just a facelift.

It looks like maybe in this version VW/Audi/Porsche finally got it right. The original was well-made but too heavy. It was nice that it was available (the VW version) with the 10-cylinder diesel, but towing Boeing 747s is a really not a practical daily project. The missing third row seats made it a tougher sell to families causing lower production and keeping prices high.

Anyway, I am hoping this will sell well in Europe and all the bugs get ironed out before it comes stateside.

Not bad. You can load up a TDI version for around $54k.

Not such a fan of the new front design language, at least not on this SUV. The new Scirocco looks great with it but this I'm not so sold on. The rear looks similar to the last, which is a good thing. Weight is supposed to be down almost 500 lbs. Interior is so-so, nothing eye catching.

Best of luck to VW with this new iteration.
