Spring DE and race at Motorsport Ranch April 10-11 presented by Classic BMW of Plano

Sorry for the delay in this announcement!

The Lone Star Chapter is proud to announce the annual Spring DE and Club Race at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, TX. The event will once again be sponsored by Classic BMW of Plano. The dates are April 10-11. The plan (pending some safety related concerns) is to run the 1.7 mile course CLOCKWISE (which is opposite of normal). Since there are some things the track needs to do for safety, we could have to revert back to the traditional counter clockwise course.

Registration will be opening on Monday February 15 on motorsportreg.com. I will post a reply with a link to the event once I get it. Pricing will be $325, however we will have an early bird discount of $50 off, so the entry will be $275 is you sign up before the end of February. As an additional incentive all early bird entries will be eligible for a FREE entry to this event. All 3 student groups will get one free entry (so we are really giving away 3 free entries!). Only early birds will be eligible for the free entry! Tell all your friends. Sign up early and sign up often!

Remember registration opens on MONDAY!

Click here for more info (but ignore the outdated info from last year!). http://lscbmwcca.org/hpde-home.html

Just to be clear the safety concerns are for the corner workers. If there is any increased dangers for ANYBODY we will revert to the normal direction. But it is our intention that we run this event backwards.

Thanks Blake. Sorry you won't be there to join us. Haven't seen a single E9x M3 signed up yet, but there is an M1 signed up (I hope he isn't pulling our leg).

Early bird discount ends on Sunday. Please signup on motorsportreg.com Early bird signup gets you a $50 discount on the entry and an entry into the raffle for one free entry to this event for one student in each run group. You can't get that if you don't sign up before Sunday.

tick tock, tick tock....time is running out on the early bird discount. Race registrations are slim so far (no GTS cars at all). This is going to make the odds of people that have signed up so far very good to get a free entry. Racers have to be paid to be an early bird (DE registrants have to pay when signing up on motorsportreg).

Follow the link for DE registration: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...EDF6DD1634D6E5

The early bird discount is gone, but registration is still open and there are spots remaining.

If I wasn't closing on our home the weekend before the event... I'd sign up right now. This event is held once a year?

You should ask over on the BMW CCA Lone Star Chapter site: http://lscbmwcca.org/hpde-home.html
.

If you're not a BMWCCA member, you should really think about it. It's $48. per year. You get a great magazine, access to local events: DE's, auto-X's, Tours, social, tech advice, and a $500 to $1,500 cash rebate on your next BMW after you've been a member for 12 months. There is more detail here: http://bmwcca.org/index.php?pageid=new_member. I've been a member for 13 years and gotten 2 $500 checks. I can't see a downside to it.

We have had two events a year for the past five years. Last year we had just one event... we are looking to hold three events this year.

Hoping to make this since BMWCCA added a Spec Boxster race, it'll count towards the regional class championship so there should be a good turnout.

We have 17 cars in class for the PCA TWS race this weekend, the class is blowing up.

Good news- MSR has assured us that the track changes will be done to run the track backwards. Bad news (or good news depending on how you look at it...)- spots are still open in all groups. I would have figured the event would have been sold out by now, but it isn't. We really need to sell the event out to break even on the event and continue running these events. If you haven't signed up please sign up, please go to http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...EDF6DD1634D6E5

Spec Boxsters need to sign up!

Spec Boxsters need to sign up!
I'm registered and looking forward to running clockwise with some BMWs. I bet going up the hill at wagonwheel and thru rattlesnake is an eye-opener/butt clencher at race pace.

My spec boxster turned a 1:59.5 at TWS last weekend and I'm leaving a lot at the table still.

We still don't have enough signups to break even on this event. Please get all your friends to sign up. Weather forecasting this far out is still sketchy, but things look good.
