philadelphia blizzard and M3

THank you Ben at tire rack. WS60 did a great job. i was in philly when the storm hit, i left the next morning while streets were still covered. It was mainly emergency vehicles and a few trucks. i got out to I95 north and made it to jersey with no issues. Tires did a great job on ground control. Especially when i hit patches of large snow mounds.

I don't run my M3 in the winter as a DD, but my buddy put Blizzaks on his RWD Infiniti G37S and says he can go anywhere with it. I have Nokian Hakkapeliitta R tires on my Audi and I'm happy with their performance in the snow. That said they aren't half as good on dry roads as the Pirelli Sottozero winter tires that were on before.

My photographer(fiance) forgot her camera...just giving a review on the tires. I know the tires are not the greatest performers when compared on dry conditions against LMs. However i bought these particularly for their performance on ice and snow which was rated better than LM60. Last thing i want to do is get out and push or abandon the car.

WS60s do really well in the snow, far better than the performance winter brethren. As you say, downside is much less grip in the dry. The same reason I have Hakka Rs on my M - can go anywhere short of driving through (really) deep snow.

The blizzaks have saved my life this season. I had to get to work Sunday morning and drove on roads that weren't properly ploughed. I even had to reverse back up an declined entrance ramp onto 295S to avoid cars that were stuck ahead of me. These things have serious grip in the snow. I am running them on my Acura TL which is FWD. The M is staying home till spring.
