My R1 Mods......

Not sure if anyone has ever done this before but since its the motorcycle off season Ive gone pretty crazy modding my one R1 everything from powder coating to new exhaust etc.... But then it hit me about getting a new paint job, not sure if Im going to keep the same paint scheme that is has but anyway the bike is matte black and candy red on the sides and metallic black everywhere else. The colors Ive been contemplating is doing the whole bike in a matte Jerez black and Melbourne Red. If anyone has any Ideas for a paint scheme they are more that welcome, will post pictures when done...

What other mods you have already done to the bike? I have an '04 R1 and did the BMC race filter, a power commander and a Termignony full titanium echaust with Carbon Fiber cans, it also has an alar system, LED's corbin seat and the usual dender eliminator, flush mounts, clear tail light, smoked screen and a few other things. The exhaust made the biggest difference, the sound and the added power is insane. It loves to hover arounf 160-175 mph on the autobahn, but I prefer the twisty country german roads.

Right now its in a bunch of pieces in my one garage bay still waiting on some parts for it.

Heres what I have so far:

Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator (Had whole assembly Powder Coated Matte Black)

Zero Gravity SR blacked out windscreen

Ducati 999 Stealth Mirrors (mirrors are from moto-scince.com)

Watsen Design Led flush mount turn signals

Full Akrapovic Evolution exhaust w/ all carbon cans paired w/ PC V

ASV Levers (Black)

Xen Tec HID Lights 6000k

Powder Coated everything from the gas cap, all pegs, shift linkages, rear brake, heel guards..etc Matte Black

Brembo Calipers and carbon rotors


I want to paint it but the hold up right now is Im not sure if I want to stay with the same scheme, reverse the colors or go with some thing completely new....

I have always loved the R1 since ir rolled out on '98 but right now I am waiting to get out of the desert to be unfaithful to Yamaha and go with the S1000RR. I want the White BMW Motorsports color scheme. That bike is driving me crazy.

The new R1s are the best sounding bikes. Period.

Ive got two of the 09 R1s, I was going to get an HP2 Sport but no body on the East Coast had one at the time and I wanted something at that moment and didnt feel like waiting, but Ive been considering getting rid of the Yellow one for a S1000RR. Although I really like the Motorsports paint scheme Ive seen pics of the all black one with the carbon akro exhaust and It looks amazing


Will post a vid once I get it back together, Im still waiting on the turn signals as they take 5 or so weeks to produce in Canada but I cant wait its gonna look sick even before paint...

i have an 08 r1 heavily modded...but i wont have it for long cuz im selling it to make room for an m3....if someone wants one hit me up title in hand....
