PDX Area Test Pipe Work

To start, I'm aware of the implications around putting on the test pipes and screwing around with the cats. Because of this, I know most exhaust shops won't touch the work.

I would like to get a set of test pipes setup with some V-bands, and have V-bands put on the stock cats. This way I could simplify swapping the cats back when I need to, without having to drop the whole x-pipe. My welding sucks, so it's not something I want to do myself. Anyone in the PDX have an idea on a shop that may be able to do this job? Worst case scenario I'll end up picking up a spare x-pipe and just swapping the whole thing, but the v-band just seems like a nicer option.

I'd like to know where too
One shop less than a mile of me, said $800 for the exact work and I have the all the material. I understand it is going to look nice and neat but god damn. If you had Parkinson's and needed the work, sure.

At that price, I would definitely be going the spare x-pipe route and just cut it up on the driveway.

Check out Rhom innovations. They are located just across the river downtown. Great group of guys! They do very nice work, and they will work with you on price to earn your business as well. (Within reason) My second go to would be PSI out in Hillsboro. I have a good friend that works there, and he will take good care of you if you choose that route.

Hmm, may have to give PSI a call, since they're about 5 minutes from my work.

Turns out PSI won't work on the exhausts of european cars. Gave Rhom a call and will see what they come back to me with.

Really huh? Didn't know that! Rhom are good folks, maybe a bit spendy, but they are a BMW specialty shop... And their fab work is incredible!
