The new tails kinda look like cheap aftermarket upgrades, not really feeling it.

This has been pretty much known for sometime- The E90/E92/E93 ///M cars all share the same exact front end, it is part of the way they keep the build cost down. The E90 M3 did not receive the new lights with the sedan LCI so it was known that it would not come to the coupe/convert LCI as if the E90 did not get it then, it was never getting it because that would mean there would be 3 separate exteriors for the car 2008 (original), 2009 (E90 LCI tails), 2011 (Coupe LCI= new headlights), this was not happening.

The next F30 will not be here until 2012 and M3 will follow a year and a half later.

Personally I prefer the original tails and still do not think it looks dated but to each their own.

I'm wondering the same thing. I didn't see any mention of new rims in the ordering guide though.

Those are the wheels from the E46 ZHP and the E60 M Sport, probably just threw them on there for testing.

Change front

If they changed the front it would effect all 3 models for the M3, The sedan went through LCI last year. All 3 models share the same front end; BMW would have to do more R&D for bodywork retrofit tooling for production.

So, it shows if you order the Competition Package that you cannot order the 19" Style 220M wheels... is this because they won't fit the setup or what? I actually like the non-comp 19" wheels better, but that's just me...

I guess this facelift looks ok.

Although, we may get a better idea of how much of a difference it all makes when we see actual photos of the finished product.

Yeah. Looks as if they kept the front exactly the same. Interesting; they did this with the E46 M3, too. Anyone know why?

The M3 has always follwed this, even the E46 M3 went through tailights also during its LCI, have to love that they are keeping with the tradition, aside from the so many firsts at M lately (FIRST M SUV, TURBOS )

P.S. (I love the X5/X6M so call me hypocritical )

Why couldn't they keep the same front end, EXCEPT add LED CORONA RINGS??!
That would be PERFECT. imo this front end looks better than LCI, except for the ugly yellow rings.

And the tails look ok, not better than current but also not worse. I wouldn't pay $$$ for an 'upgrade'.
