Arrow M3 Coupe/Convertible Facelift (LCI) cometh.... (** Photos included **)

For 2011, along with the standard 3-series, BMW is going to be updating the M3 Coupe and Convertible as well. The most obvious different is the inclusion of the new LED tailights to the M3 while leaving the current design on the front of the car alone. IMO this is the perfect combination (hopefully a retrofit won't be too difficult).

Other changes which are not so obvious in these pictures are interior changes such as little updates on the trim pieces with updates to the iDrive system and screen.

Make sure to take a look at southlights post containing the official CGI photos of this car from BMW: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346270

it always irks me that the non LCI coupes have always been able to upgrade to the LCI look easily but the sedan owners get shafted and have to buy a whole new bootlid.

I don't even really want to upgrade. Triple bars look better.

Hmmm...don't love the tails to be honest.

Did they switch the lights up front to LEDs? Hard to tell...

Is the muffler painted black now? Again, hard to tell from the pic.

Wheels are pretty nice, although I'm not sure that I like them more than the current 18s.

Be thankful you don't drive an E90 335i. The LCI changes included taillights, headlights, bootlid, rear bumper, front bumper, hood, and wheels. And those are only the exterior changes...

I agree. I like mine better. Newer for the sake of being newer isn't necesarily better. Upgrade? I don't consider it an upgrade, just different for the sake of being different.

I think I may also prefer the old tail lights...

Thank gosh they didn't change the front! I love that front.

What are the interior/ iDrive changes? Anyone know?

So you are looking at getting a new one?

However, the retrofit doesnt look too bad, and was done easily on the older e46 m3's so it shud be a easy fix

However, does any get the feeling that from a distance the rear would now look i dunno a bit audi-sh like a4/s5ish

It does look like the new tails are all red. I like LED, I did the mod on my E46 M3, but if there is no amber, I don't want them. I don't like all red tail/brake/turn signals. I thought most Euro cars always had amber, and it was North America that overly used the all red.
