break-in period - When Can I open her up?

Hey all...well, I'm at 900 miles exactly. My appointment for service is next wednesday. Here is my question:

If I hit the 1200 mile mark before my service wednesday, is it okay to open her up? Or do I have to have the service first?

Why not wait the extra 300 miles to be safe?

Trust me wait. If you try too early your just going to waste oil. Try to go non- M and no full throttle! Once you do the service drive the piss out of it.

at least you are at 900 miles I am at 1300km , We should race to see who gets there first! But really you are already winning. I am following the break-in rules as written. If you see other post for dealers seeing launch control, then they should be able to see RPM/throttle plate/tach. so 700kms to go for me

Don't forget to just full throttle occasionally before the 3000mls mark. After that you can do anything.

Don't screw around until the service. ECU records overrevs, etc. an it's not worth raising a warranty issue if anything ever happens.

Be smart.

I had my car fully modded before I took delivery, and then drove it hard, but never ran it up past 6000 rpm. I don't really think there's a correct answer. When I bought my first 430, I ran it full out from day one. Why not, the factory runs the shit out of the car for 30 miles on their race track before shipping it. Did the same thing with my 2008, and they both ran perfectly since day one.

Drive it any way you like. Just no sustained high speeds or sustained high loads like a track day.
