My Volk G2s in 20" with 255/295 tires weigh the same as the stock 19" setup so you can plus size and not add a bunch of weight. You do feel more imperfections in the road but the ride is not jarring/beats you up. My E46M3's never rode as nice as this setup...
I am selling my wheels as I've decided to go to an 18" setup (the Fall Line Motorsport design) as I want a setup that I can track too. IMO, 18" are more appropriate for track use than 20". BC

I live in toronto and there are tonnes of potholes/bumps in the road, curious to hear from anyone that regularily drives 20s on bad roads... although the areas of rough road here you aren't going all that fast (less than 20mph) |

I just switched to 20's and I have no regrets no rubbing.. My car will never see a track and if i do i'll buy a second set of 18" te37's for track only use.
As for the potholes.. I've dealt with them my whole life here where I live so I'm pretty good with the pothole avoidance tactics.. Get some strong forged rims for extra insurance (no guarentee they still won't bend but your possibility is reduced).. The E9x M3 really swallows rims up.. I had the stock 19's and a set of advan's in 19's and the rims always looked too small to me (especially the rear)..20's look perfect to me. --mike |

If you have selection between 18", 19" and 20", I would configure as;
More than 50% Track usage go for 18" with the right track tires configuration 50/50 between Track and Street go for 19" and less than 50% Track usage go for 20" in consideration you are living in good area where potholes are not a mayor issue. |

I mean by harsh that you have less tire to absorb bumps and you will feel that for sure in the ride quality. If you don´t track and really don´t push it to the limit you ought to be fine with 20". Make sure however that they are forged since non forged wheels tend to bend a lot easier and are also generally lighter.

Regrets are performance and ride quality thats it. Oh and for some reason, 20'' wheels are 100x more expensive then 19''.
You want bling bling? get 20'' You want performance get 18'' You want both get 19''
