Question Moving between states and sales tax on a lease

I guess I'm a noob and this is something I should have known beforehand, but even so I don't quite understand what it's saying.

So I'm moving from IA to AZ here tomorrow actually. So I went to my account on bmwusa.com and changed my address to my friends house in Phoenix.

When I did it mentioned a "single" payment for sales tax of $55 was required for changing tax jurdictions. I kind of knew of something like this coming, but after that I noticed my "montly payment" said it was now $55 more. What I couldn't figure out was did it mean that ONLY this month (decemeber) the payment was $55 more, or is my monthly payment now going to always be $55 more?

I should note my payment for this month (december) was due on Jan 2nd, but I paid it back on Dec 22nd. When I changed the address, this $55 is due on the 2nd as well. So that's what confused me more, if this was a one time charge or if it's going to be higher going forward.

I guess I don't understand it all, again my own fault for not knowing, but I just wanted to understand it, and I really want to know if my payment is going to continue to be higher like this, which I'm not thrilled about since money is already tight with the move, and I still have to pay to re-register it down there.

Too late for that! If you did that, what happens if something happened to the car in another state on the otherside of the country?

Yeah but wouldn't there be some kind of fine or penalty for falsely stating which state you were housing the car in?

Either way I've already changed it, so that doesn't help me now.

I just want to understand why now, again something I guess I should have learned before I got a lease.

I'm moving out of state in 2 weeks. I'm going to change my insurance but will leave my address the same with BMW finance if this is the case. You should call BMW finace to get clarification.

Can you not just call BMWFS and have them give you a definitive answer?
