What should i expect if I

Hey guys i'm in the market for an exhaust system, but just like all the rest i want no drone since this is my dd and i have 2 kids and a wife.

My question to you experts is what would i get if i change only the mid section (xpipe) where the pipes look triangular to an aftermarket unit like the AA or any other system out there? Remember i'm keeping the rear section stock oem

Would hp or torque change ?
Would sound change in cabin or outside ?

thx for your responses.

AA exhaust has drone around 2k, not much anywhere else. Added to Fabspeed HFC and x-pipe, noise (or should I say music) is slightly louder with light acceleration, slightly quieter when cruising at 70-80 mph, significantly louder (or should I say more beautiful) when accelerating hard . With the Fabspeed, car pulls much harder throughout the RPM range

OEM Axle back and aftermarket midpipes is loud and sounds like crap. It gets like a chainsaw 2 literbike

Depending on the aftermarket exhaust design with midpipe it could remain sort of quiet and docile or super loud
From my experience Remus has a lot of drone and is too loud with mids. But Agency Power is tame and controllable

Maybe go for Borla, Bastuck, or Titanium systems to stay on the racey quiet side. Only get loud if they are in a high rev range.

I highly recommend you check out the vanguard exhaust. There's sound when you want it, but it's pretty tame.

Gintani has multiple X-pipes you can choose from. They have no cats or 300cpi HFC mixed with no resonators to up to 4 resonators.

I think you can get a Gintani x-pipe and keep the OEM exhaust for good HP performance. you can expect about 15-20 HP increase.

If you want a full exhaust system then I think for a DD you should get a Akrapovic

Both of these systems don't have drone

I was running Fabspeed x-pipe w/HFC’s and OEM rear for a few weeks and the sound was the same as stock. The exception was when I floored the car and there was a high-pitched sound to the exhaust.

rwhp gains for just the Fabspeed X-pipe was in the region of 15 to 20 rwhp.

My honest advice is if you are worried about loudness and drone to just remain stock. I don't think you will get much HP gain by adding an X pipe and keeping the restrictive OEM muffler.
