FWIW, I dump my exhaust with valves before this muffled section and I gained 4-5hp with my valves open vs closed. So, dont expect more than a 2-3 HP (if any) with this mod.. You are still going through 2 bends and a split at the tips, in addition to about 4' of tubing on each side.

Thats pretty much what I figured. I can guarantee there will be some gain since the theoretical backpressure in this section is being reduced, as slight as it is. However I am also replacing all the crimped and compressed exhaust tubing as mentioned earlier in the post which will help some as well. All in all, I hope to get somewhere around 10hp out of the work on the axle back section and the secondary cat delete. I think thats reasonable, I will have a dyno session done after the work is done. Just waiting for the mandrel bent sections now, hopefully Wednesday. Unfortunately, I dont have a stock exhaust anymore to have a baseline dyno done, so not sure how I can measure any gains??? Maybe someone local has a stock axleback to lend me.

Tips coated black with KG GunKote. Turned out excellent! The finish is a very nice satin black, durable, easy to clean. Only way to get it off is sand blast.

i so want these tips
i am just worried that who ever re-installs them does a bad job and they vibrate or end up being crooked
but it's exactly what i wanted
OEM tips but black, like the M3 E30 tips
not a fan of aftermarket tips at all

Update

I got a bit side tracked doing other things but the fabrication portion of the exhaust is finished and I must say, it came out fantastic. Fits up just as good as OEM, full 2.5" mandrel bent tubing to replace the crimped tube sections. On top of all this, it sounds amazing. Have some clean up to do on it this weekend then it is off to the powder coat shop for the high temp black ceramic coat. I am not only coating the muffler but also the pipes. According to the internet and the coaters, this ceramic coat greatly reduces radiated heat from the exhaust tubing, reducing the heat experienced by all the goodies under the car. Little to no drone, screams at WOT, perfect! Videos to come and pics of the finished unit. Sorry, these pics were taken with my phone. More to come later!

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I have never seen the ceramic coating in person and I am very familiar with the coating I used on them. They turned out amazing though!

Hey Perio where would you place the sound of your mod on the scale... (exhaust mod compilation)

Bet your sick of my questions.

Think I have found a reliable shop to do this for me.

Update -

the sound is intoxicating, it is simply incredible, it has a high pitched tone right around 3k that makes people turn their heads when you drive by. No drone as I said before. Im in the final stages of getting it all finished. It is on my car now and ready for ceramic coating as soon as I have a free second to take it off. I am going to add the Fabspeed resonated x-pipe / secondary cat delete as soon as possible, I have a feeling this combo will be intense. Sorry for the lag, video, dyno, pics to come very very soon!

Nice, The black powder coating will hide the bulk of the OEM exhaust, Looking forward to pics and video of the sound.
