Be aware "LA driver"

Good morning. just wanted to share with LA drivers. let me say this first. I admit i violated law by putting tint on my front windows( very light 15%) it's my fault not putting the front plate.
I've been driving other cars for 10+ yrs w/ tint & no front license plate (SUV). no tickets.
i got my M3 E93 about 2 months ago. i drove by USC area and CHP pull me over. i stopped on a red light and CHP pull me over. CHP on surface street. anyway, he asked a few questions and lastly "is this your car?" i am an asian and look very young. i get carded every time.

ya? he took ~15+ min to run my background check. i am pretty sure he was checking every possible background check. he must be thinking i am sort of a drug dealer or something. i had no tickets for last 5+ years. he came back to me and gave me "fix" ticket.
after that, i met up w/ my co-workers and told them about it. and one of the girl said "ya my friends got the same thing. so be careful" and other friend said he got a ticket while the car was parked. i guess CA/LA needs lots of money from their cops. either remove all illegal mods and drive down LA or avoid at all cost. i am little pissed (my fault) but i felt that they are catching people just to make their budget or goal. i am going to remove all my tint and put my front license plate by next week. ~$80 donation to my state. ya right...

LAPD/CHP has been desperately giving out the tickets since 3, 4 months ago. Maybe you haven't heard the SGV area, they have pulled over 150 cars in 4 hours!! like you said, the gov needs money!!

I get tickets all the time in Pasadena while my car is parked, for no front plate, tints etc. It is absurd, and I truly believe some Nazi's work for the city due to the outrageous parking stipulations they have.

yah our cops in OC + CHP are going nuts these days, im thinking of going back to stock exhaust and putting front lic plates. the risk is to get cited for multiple things, i dont think it's worth it. while my car wont be as cool, but i'll still be able to drive

I just got pulled over yesterday afternoon in hollywood. license plate, tint, and exhaust. Literally pulled me over 10 feet away from my on ramp... I guess my car is going to get some plates and no more tint..

Fix it tickets in California I believe are 15 dollars with inspection or you could pay the full fine and skip the inspection.

Unbelievable.. I was pulled over again today about 30 ft away from my home. 2 days in row and counting...

I wouldn't say it's just a LA thing. The entire state of California is over budget again, so tickets are given left and right. It's a sad thing that we have to pay for the state's inability to keep under budget and overspend.

i just got a letter from LA court. $50 fine + proof ($25/correctable item). The grand total comes out to be $100. I could buy lots of stuff w/ $100 these days. Drive safely guys.
