Gintani Sport w/ HFCs & XPipe - 1st impressions

Just got the car back and it sounds pretty frickin' awesome!! There is a little drone but its actually a tad less than my Riss xpipe/eisenmann sport combo. It's not intrusive. I think this car will drone with anything that is louder than stock (at least to my ears)

Car really does sound phenomenal! I'll post up a video hopefully on Sunday assuming the weather clears...

Thanks to Arno and the folks at Gintani for excellent customer service and an even better exhaust system!!

PS - I had the Gintani Race exhaust with stock xpipe and this setup is quieter than that combo on the inside and definitely drones a lot less. But on the outside when you're on it - it's really awesome sounding!

Depends on what you want. I can compare this setup directly to the riss/eisenmann combo. It is louder overall but with a little less drone. I'm sensitive to drone and this setup is just what the doctor ordered. An agressive sound that is liveable.

It will draw attention to the car when you driving hard - it really does sound unbelievable. (I'm not prone to hyperbole either....)

I'll post up vids as soon as I can. A winterstorm is coming in tomorrow and I'll have to wait until that clears before I can post something....

congrats! How would you describe the sound compared 2 ur eis sprt? I.e. more deep-tone, bass-ey, exotic etc?

Also, how does the actual weight of the g.s. compare to the the oem and es?

lastly, what speeds and rpm are u encountering the drone?

sorry 4 all these questions, im considering the g.s. and coupling them w/fabspeeds later...

Definitely more bassy/deep tone. It sounds like a race car up top. I think it's exotic sounding at speed. Not Ferrari exotic (no flat crank here) but still cool sounding IMO.

Drone largely around 3k rpm and is load dependent. The greater the load on the engine (up a steep hill in 7th gear at 65ishmph) the more drone. Seriously though it's not bad at all.

I'd recommend the Gintani over the Fabspeed. No modification of heat shields needed (Fabspeed requires this) and the secondary o2 sensors are positioned away from the cat (connector extends out from the cat and is angled at a 90 degree angle) and I think this is to reduce the risk of CEL since the sensor is "out of the stream" (at least this is what my mechanic said). Quality is excellent on the pipe (appears a tad better than the exhaust imo).

Therefore, my recommendation is to go with the full Gintani setup - you will not be disappointed!

Doesn't Gintani use 300 cpi cats too? That should help wtih the CEL.

Is there also the usual drone at 2000 RPM?

I have a flash so no CEL. Since I have a flash I didn't ask about whether it throws a CEL or not.

So you only get drone when at around that 3k mark? Also, how's it sound when you just let off the gas in 2nd gear, from like 2.5k to about 1k? Does it have that big rumble like with the race exhaust or is it quiet?

That 3000 RPM drone can be a headache... literally if it's loud.

But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
