Hide Away Plate Install

So I officially got tired of getting pulled over for no front plate. Installed the Hide Away Plate. It doesn't look to bad and it hides under the car when not needed. My question is, why the *&^% is the bolt under the front chin (which is perfect to mount) off centered. It is off by about a half inch. Now you might think, half an inch, no big deal. When the whole plate is off by that much you can tell. I also am a complete moron for it bugging me. Now unless it was to keep the car weight perfectly even left to right I don't see why (lame joke). I used that bolt because I didn't want to drill another hole. Why BMW why?

You can see the front of the bracket but not really noticable. The plate looks like it just appears and disappears, looks pretty cool.

I got the same thing about a month ago but some road debris mangled it

What about drilling a new mounting hole on the bracket to center it?

FYI, since I mangled mine, Swift hooked me up with a replacement unit (plate holder w/motor) for $100 shipped.
