Yeah, that's the conclusion I came to -- a combo of things I bet. All the mods "working together". That is the only conclusion I can really come to. Being as I have the other mods, it is not easy to tell if it is just the pipe or the "combo effect". lol.

At any rate, I am enjoying it and am trying to do a "fun run" up in the hills tomorrow morning. There will be a SC E46 M3 and about 5 or 6 other performance cars. I am trying to get up there and see how my car compares. I will post my impressions in another thread.

Keep in mind it could always be some other variable that changed at the same time--directly related or unrelated to the mod. A simple way to test the former would be to swap the stock pipe back in if you were curious (since it takes only 10 minutes).

i felt similar things when i added my Dinan CAI last week and i think it was partly bc i have no cats a muffler and a tune. i didn't feel a huge difference like he did but i felt better throttle response everywhere and up top when you hit 6k i felt some more power then bf and down low below 4k i felt some more power also. i don't know if the colder temps did all this but it was cold the week bf and while the car ran better it didn't run this good. i also notice it is louder coming from the engine bay area that wasn't there bf

overall i like the mod but my catless midpipe was what added the most power improvement. it was night and day different and made the car rip.

I'll be installing mine at the local shop I have all of my dyno runs on file with. I'll try to do ten pulls with my current set-up, then install the Envy and do another ten pulls to see what type of difference in perfomance this piece makes .

That swap back to stock vs. modified (same day, same temps), plus the dyno runs Powertrip is going to do will be interesting. The temperature seems to have really dropped during the past week here (Sacramento) so that might be contributing...then again, maybe not.

I've got an open mind and will await further results.

Is there a plastic version in the works for those that don't need CF under the hood?

I asked Eric about this and he said no. Apparently Technocraft is only interested in carbon models .

You'll probably pick up another 5-8hp if you already have a high flow filter. I hear that this system is built by the same company that builds the JDM Powerchamber intake for the new Civic Si. My buddy (a local import tuner) swears by that intake. I've heard from a few of those guys that the biggest benefit is the sharpened throttle response, which falls right in line with Tim's thoughts.

Sorry, never got your PM. =(

All DYNO are all handled by Tecnocraft directly. Please contact them to see if anything can be worked out.
