Supercharger + Meth Kit Dyno Chart Gains

Just wanted to share what a customer sent to us a couple weeks ago.

Vehicle Configuration:
VF Supercharger Kit @ 7.5PSI, 91 Octane gasoline, BPM Flash.
-Custom Exhaust
-Custom BOV setup

Snow performance controller
-Stage 3 kit
-US rally team 8 nozzles. (8 x 45cc)
-2ea NX (nitros express) solenoids
-Custom rails n XRP hoses
-Standard SP tank & pump in trunk
(custom 3 gallon tank is in the works)

We didn't make any software changes (yet) to accommodate the meth kit, but that will follow. Regardless, you can see the gains are still quite sizable!

Engine Bay:

Meth Setup in Trunk:

Dyno Chart

Next up..... more boost and some fine tuning

Slick meth install. I'm sure you will be able to massage some more HP out of it Mike

Right on with the meth kit! Not much info here on the forum about meth on a E9x M3. You mention how you made no tweaks to the tuning so far. What's the gains w/ and w/o meth? I would assume huge gains after tuning because you should be able to afford much more timing. How difficult was it to install and integrate meth to the existing setup? Or is it a standalone system from a software perspective? And BTW, which VF kit is this?

560 on 7.5psi with meth seems a bit low... interested to see gains after tuning.

Thats a mean looking motor!

Member "Longboarder" did some meth testing for those of you looking for other meth data.

Did they happen to mention which VF kit they were using?

7.5lbs is roughly the same as their 650 kit, good power made on this graph for 91 but not sublime, the meth seems to have added octane

Not sure of trunk location set up. Can you service the battery w/o removing pump and tank? And tray is now useless to store cleaning products...

That's a nice looking setup Mike, I'm a fan of using water/meth on these motors, or just distilled water itself. In my dyno testing I've seen a slight reduction in intake temps as well as ~15whp simply by turning the WM on. But I would not run a WM dependent tune, but rather just run it as a safety feature and to keep intake temps down.

Do you ever make right turns? If so, that tray is useless as it is.

I have Brasso wrapped in half a towel for my tips, bottle of Zymöl quick detail with microfiber cloth, and roll of paper towel in that bin (all lying on the side). And I make right turns, lol...
Serious, that stupid bin works for me. Just mount on other side

Longboarder didn't tap into the manifold like this though. He was spraying meth before the heat exchanger and when the cooled charged passed through the heat exchanger, it was just heated up and virtually negated.

You can do the Awron stacks and tap there, but I believe they inject methanol after the IAT sensor. This setup seems agreeable because the meth is being injected AFTER the heat Exchanger but before the the IAT sensor.

I can't see from his pic is the injector above the iat sensor? Pic of sensor for reference

It does though... Why do you think people rarely do methanol in Liquid/Air heat exchangers integrated with the manifold?

This is why AA kits can do methanol injection and see gains and why Longboarder/ESS kits don't typically see much as far as gains are concerned.

It is. It's just below the bend on the top of the manifold, but above the temp sensor.
