Doubtful... a one off is one thing but BMW isn't going to completely re-vamp the s65 for a production run of less then 1000 cars.

Besides new intake, exhaust, cams, tuning and some more revs and the s65 will push 450hp pretty easily. Don't hope for any more then that... BMW probably won't tax the motor any harder.

It's only a guess, and I didn't mean to imply they'd be replacing the S65, but rather supplementing it. I do find it odd that they'd go to the effort of beefing up the DCT transmission for this one-of-a-kind M5 if there weren't some other application for it...

What has the M3's V8 failed to offer in the past?

Low end torque, I think you will see this being addressed, but with a healthy boost in power as well. A fitting end before the adoption of FI in the future.

it's the best thing M division can do but prob not the most feasible?

The only thing they can do is stroke the motor. BMW isn't going to go through the effort of designing, manufacturing, and testing new crank, rods, and pistons for a production run of less then 1000 cars. The s65 doesn't need it anyways... there is more then enough power left on the table BMW can easily ring out with intake, cams, exhaust, tune + more revs.

Why would BMW care about improving low end torque in a track special anyways?

Remember the CSl will be significantly lighter which will make better use of everyone of those lb-ft.

Can't wait for the M3 CSL! Please bring it to the US!

Looks like it's going to be lighter, have higher engine output (likely better intake, exhaust, and ECU), better aerodynamics, and revised suspension and dct program.

Ill put down a $100 bet to the OP that the "special m3" doesnt get a hp upgrade equal to or greater than 24hp lol. And this "NEWS" better friggin be about the M3 since we now have 10 pages of BS in the m3 section.

You know, may be there's substance in this. Mercedes just gave 2010 C63's a power increase, claiming that they are using forged pistons from the SLS or something.

It would be an expected reaction from BMW to give the M3 more oomph just to keep up with its rival.
