Right parking/DRL lamp warning keeps going off but light is fine..

For two days now at random times the warning comes on the screen saying something about the right side parking/DRL light. I checked the lights and they are all fine. Parking,DRL,headlamps, high beams- all are working.

Yesterday is started to go on every few minutes. Could it be a loose wire or something? I know my lights are not going off when the notification is because I made sure I waited for the warning and then checked the lights which were both on.

I do have camross305's full circuitry gp thunder angel eye kit installed (which he installed himself) but i've had that on for over 3 months and this problem has just arisen.

I'm scheduled to go in for servicing in two weeks but i'm worried that when I tell them there is a headlight warning issue they will see the camross setup and then say that it's causing it.

Wondering if it's something I could try and fix?

I've had the same issues but with my left DRL lamp and left brake light warnings go on but with no failure. It happened twice on the DRL and once on the Brake lights. I've had the car since April '09 and it has never given me problems.

I had the same issue. In my case, the passenger side resistor that connects to the OEM harness was heating too much. If your resistor is in the headlight housing, try to check how hot it gets with the DRL on. The elite kit looks amazing and I like it a lot. But it was a little unnerving to see the resistor getting extremely hot.

I just hope it's not the circuit itself that's causing this excessive heating problem. I am waiting for a replacement resistor.

...there's a BMW service bulletin on this issue, see your SA.

I'm due for servicing as well. Pardon my ignorance but
how/where do
I check with a SA? I just got the car a few months ago on a lease transfer and this is the first time I'm taking it in for a service(9k service).
I'm guessing if I continue to have this issue I should remove the elite kit before going in?

No worries...SA=dealer 'service advisor'

No I do know the SB, but it is in the dealer 'library' of SB's and is a fairly well known issue. I had the left-side malfunction.

So i'm going in for servicing on friday but i'm having the elite kit removed and leaving the gp thunders in there just in case they make a fuss about the warning and it being related to the angel eye mod.

I'm having camaross send me a new reisistor which I hope will remedy the issue.

So there is a known problem then with the warning if the SA's know about it?
Maybe it's not my elite kit then. Just want to remove it for peace of mind though before I take it in.

The error is also not there all the time. It comes and goes at will and I cannot elicit it by doing anything specific
